This October, Southern Cross Soloists return to QPAC’s Concert Hall with Wonder – a captivating journey through the intertwined lives and enduring legacies of classical composers Robert and Clara Schumann and Johannes Brahms. The unmissable one-day-only performance reveals the deeply human stories behind their music, tracing themes of friendship, love, grief and inspiration through works that remain timeless in their beauty and emotion.

At the heart of the program is Clara Schumann’s delicate Romances, Robert Schumann’s haunting Ghost Variations and Brahms’ tender Intermezzi – alongside much-loved chamber treasures including Schumann’s Piano Quartet and Brahms’ Clarinet Trio. These intimate works are woven with the world premiere of a luminous new composition for didgeridoo and ensemble by Ray Lin and Chris Williams, commissioned as part of Southern Cross Soloists’ decade-long Didgeridoo Commissioning Project (2022–2032).

Bringing another layer of artistry, members of Queensland Ballet’s Jette Parker Young Artist Program will join Southern Cross Soloists, weaving in movement and narrative to illuminate the performance.

Southern Cross Soloists invite audiences to an afternoon where music, story and artistry collide in one spellbinding performance. To secure your seats, visit the QPAC website.
