To see or not to see … that is a silly question!  An all-new, laugh-out-loud Australian production of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) is set to premiere at QPAC from Thursday May 15 to Sunday June 8 2025, with no holds bard.

The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) is a fast, furious and side-splitting sprint through the Bard’s best (and weirdest) moments, written by Adam Long, Daniel Singer and Jess Winfield.

Performed by a cast of three, the show races through all 37 of Shakespeare’s tragedies, comedies and histories with satire, physical comedy, improvisation and a heavy dose of absurdity. Audiences can expect tragic deaths, wild romances and ridiculous wigs as the performers attempt to tackle every play and sonnet in one whirlwind performance.

This new production will be presented by Queensland Performing Arts Centre, Woodward Productions and Neil Gooding Productions. Directed by Darren Gilshenan, it stars Brisbane favourites Amy Ingram (Pride and Prejudice, Fourteen, Cinderella), Stephen Hirst (A Very Naughty Christmas, Merrily We Roll Along, Macbeth) and Tomas Pocilujko (Murder at the Manor, Antony and Cleopatra, Plied and Prejudice).

Whether you’re a die-hard fan or think Macbeth is a new burger at Macca’s, this show is pure comedy gold. Book now before it exits, pursued by a bear.
