Spring is set to burst into colour as the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers returns from September 12 to October 6, delivering four weekends of blooms, bites and brand-new events across Queensland’s Garden City. Toowoomba’s iconic green spaces – Queens Park Botanic Gardens and Laurel Bank Park – will once again be a visual feast, joined by private gardens open to the public.
The festival kicks off with Floral Friday on September 12, a city-wide celebration that sees locals and visitors dress in florals as shopfronts and public spaces burst to life. That evening, Queens Park hosts the festival’s first-ever Lawn Party, an exclusive twilight garden soiree with cocktails, gourmet bites and dancing under the stars. Twilight Tours offer an enchanting after-dark experience through Laurel Bank Park, revealing its hidden corners and night-blooming wonders in a one-hour guided adventure.
The Grand Central Floral Parade, a highlight of the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers, fills the streets on Saturday September 20 with floral floats, performers and entertainers, winding from Herries and Hume Streets to Godsall Street Oval in a joyful spring celebration. Saturday September 21 marks the debut of the Paw Parade, where four-legged friends take centre stage. Food lovers can also explore the city with Tasting Tours, a series of curated food and drink experiences including Cork & Walk, Sip & Stroll and Pint Pursuit.
The third weekend (September 26–28) brings the launch of FEASTival, a new food-focused event featuring cooking demos by Miguel Maestre, sweet and savoury eats, local drinks and the #TrEATS foodie trail, all set among the splendour of Queens Park.
The festival wraps with Weekend Table, a series of long-table dining events, plus Cake Date and family-friendly fun on the Ferris Wheel and vintage carousel.
