A favourite picture book will step off the page and onto the stage this April, with Where Is The Green Sheep? arriving at QPAC in a playful burst of colour, movement and imagination. Created by Monkey Baa Theatre Company, this immersive visual-theatre experience brings the much-loved story by Mem Fox and Judy Horacek to life for a new generation of theatre-goers.
On stage, young audiences meet a parade of sheep with big personalities – Blue Sheep, Red Sheep, Bath Sheep and Bed Sheep – each charming in their own way. Yet one question remains – where is that elusive Green Sheep? The answer unfolds through a lively blend of puppetry and animation, designed to captivate curious minds from start to finish.
Written for the stage and directed by Eva Di Cesare, the production follows three farmers on a joyful quest, inviting children to join the search. Co-created with students from Bankstown West Public School, the show weaves young voices into the narrative, creating a sense of shared discovery. At 45 minutes with no interval, it’s a perfectly paced introduction to live theatre for little ones.
