From July 19 to August 17, Brisbane Powerhouse will host the World Press Photo Exhibition 2025 – a powerful showcase of award-winning photojournalism capturing the defining moments of the past year. Now in its 70th year, the exhibition features winning images from over 59,000 entries submitted by photographers across 141 countries, revealing powerful stories of conflict, crisis, resilience and humanity.

In an age increasingly shaped by AI and synthetic imagery, this exhibition is a vital reminder of the power of real photojournalism, captured by human eyes and lived experience. Presented in partnership with Brisbane Airport, the free exhibition spans the Turbine Platform and Fairfax Studio at Brisbane Powerhouse, with a curated selection also on display throughout Brisbane Airport’s terminals.

The free exhibition is open daily from 9:00 am (until late Friday to Sunday). Visit the Brisbane Powerhouse website for details.
