Voting on the weekend? This website has compiled a list of polling places serving democracy sausages

If you’re debating which polling station to visit this weekend, here’s a handy site to help guide you to the closest sausage sizzle.

Voting is important – having our say in the governance of our country is essential. But, if we’re being truthful, the best part of casting our vote is rewarding ourselves with a post-vote snag.

The team behind Democracy Sausage is conducting a vital public service this Federal Election by updating an interactive map of sausage sizzles and cake stalls across Australia. The map also lists which stalls are selling coffee, bacon and egg rolls, vegetarian and halal options.

At the time of writing, the site currently lists more than 1900 polling booths with sausage sizzles. What’s more, the stats page gives insights into which electorates have the densest concentration of sausage slingers.

Democracy Sausage crowdsources its data from social media and from public submissions to its website. Know of a stall not listed? You can submit a stall online or reach out to Democracy Sausage’s social media pages. See the map below!
