Brace your taste buds, Brisbane – Night Feast is back, and this might be its most indulgent edition yet. From Wednesday October 15 to Sunday November 9, Brisbane Powerhouse will once again transform into an after-dark culinary playground, blending art, live music and late-night feasting over three decadent weeks. Presented by American Express, this year’s line-up unites more than 20 of Brisbane’s best restaurants – a mix of returning favourites and exciting newcomers – each serving up a mouth-watering menu of favourites, highlighted by an event-exclusive dish. From Spanish bocadillos stuffed with crispy pork belly to deep-friend lasagne and pistachio-laced desserts, here are the Night Feast dishes you do not want to miss.
Viral Dubai Chocolate Croissant x Chocolate Stout Ice Cream – Nok Nok x Honey & Yolko
Fortitude Valley bar Nok Nok, known for its boundary-pushing concoctions, has teamed up with California Lane micro-bakehouse Honey & Yolko to create a multi-sensory menu that combines delicate sweets with creative cocktails. The powerhouse pair will be serving up a one-of-a-kind hand-held dessert – a chocolate-lined croissant filled with pistachio cream and a swirl of chocolate-stout ice-cream, crowned with kataifi pastry and crushed pistachio.
Texas Hot Links – Burn City Smokers
Follow the smoke and you’ll find Burn City’s pit crew working the flames beneath the 14-hour brisket and its Night Feast-exclusive Texas Hot Links. The housemade beef sausages are smoked low and slow, then served with sticky barbecue sauce and a bright pickle slaw. Add a side of three-cheese mac topped with garlic panko crumbs and you’ve got yourself a proper southern feast.
Deep Fried Lasagne – OTTO Brisbane
Riverfront favourite OTTO, led by head chef Will Cowper, is elevating one of Italy’s most comforting classics to new heights of indulgence. The Deep Fried Lasagne features layers of housemade egg pasta, silky bechamel and OTTO Reserve brisket ragu from Rangers Valley, which is then coated in a focaccia crumb and fried to golden, molten perfection. It’s a rich, crisp and totally decadent bite – best savoured slowly with a glass of vino on the side.
Gun Powder Calamari – Layla
Shane Delia’s Middle Eastern-inspired West End restaurant Layla is taking diners on a fearless spice journey for its Night Feast debut. Alongside a menu of house favourites like the Habibi Butter Chicken, the Layla team has created the Gun Powder Calamari, fried until audibly crisp and served with cashew and curry leaves.
Bocadillo y Chicharrón – OLÉ
South Bank’s vibrant Spanish dining spot OLÉ will be bringing everything from paella to patatas bravas and churros to Night Feast. Though, its limited-edition bocadillo (Spanish baguette sandwich) needs to be on your radar. It features layers of crispy pork belly with mixed leaves and a glossy Seville-orange glaze inside a soft rosemary roll – best enjoyed with a glass of sangria.
Lamington Croissant Cube – Lune
Lune’s perfectionist pastry chefs have curated a menu featuring the classic almond croissant and the savoury pulled-pork croissant, though its Night Feast-exclusive is going to blow you away. A nod to the iconic Australian treat, the Lamington Croissant Cube, created Lune’s signature croissant pastry, has a belly of raspberry jam and chantilly cream, and is dipped in dark-chocolate-ganache and coated with shredded coconut.
Malter Ego – Gelato Messina
When Gelato Messina turns up, resistance is futile. The cult creamery’s Malter Ego creation folds chocolate-cheesecake gelato with baked cheesecake chunks, cheesecake mousse, Milo fudge, chewy choc brownie and a Milo crumble on top. The result? A creamy, crunchy ode to childhood that hits all the right notes.
Night Feast runs from Wednesday to Sunday nights from October 15 to November 9. To view the full line-up of food, performances and live music, head to the Night Feast website.
