Clear your calendar and ready your appetite – Savour The Tweed is back next week and it’s shaping up to be the most delicious edition yet. From October 22–26, this five-day celebration of food, fire, storytelling and community will bring together an all-star line-up of chefs, producers and creatives for more than 35 events across Northern New South Wales.

Recognised as of the country’s most exciting regional food festivals, Savour The Tweed offers a rare chance to experience the best of the Northern Rivers through the lens of its chefs, producers and makers. Co-curated by acclaimed chef Christine Manfield and food advocate Amy Colli, this year’s program spans everything from farm-to-table feasts and long lunches to cooking demos, cultural experiences and late-night cocktail parties – with a strong focus on sustainability, storytelling and Indigenous food culture.

Culinary collabs are a major highlight, with events like Rum Parlour Dinner Party at Husk Distillery in North Tumbulgum. The event will see Raes by Wategos chef Jason Saxby join forces with the Husk culinary team, led by head chef Pepsi, for a three-course menu with plenty of rum to go around. Meanwhile, over at The Natural Wine Shop & Bar in Burringbar, settle in for an intimate wine experience with Mediterranean-inspired small plates and matching natural wines curated by owner Bron Harrison and Italian chef Daniela Maiorano. And don’t miss out on a one-of-a-kind open-air dining experience between Tropical Fruit World and Stone & Wood where flavours from Mexico, Argentina and Australia will fuse together for Fire & Forage– we also heard rumours of tractor tours and handcrafted food mementos to take home.

For those keen to roll up their sleeves, Savour The Tweed offers immersive farm-based experiences that connect you to the source. At Woodland Valley Farm, Pasture to Plate invites guests to craft fresh pasta using the farm’s own pasture-raised eggs, before enjoying a slow dinner served against the backdrop of the surrounding hills.

For something rooted in culture and Country, Walking Together, a shared dinner with Mindy Woods and Christine Manfield, blends Bundjalung and Indian food traditions, native ingredients, music and dance.

Want to level up your culinary skills? Join the botanical gin tastings at Husk, coffee cupping with Old Quarter Roasters, or rum and sugarcane masterclasses with Birds of Isle.

You’ll also find laidback market trails, sunset river cruises and community-minded events like Brunch by the Platform along the Northern Rivers Rail Trail or join in for an afternoon of Sips & Snacks by Knucklehead Wine and Rob Roy Deli & Drinks.

From fireside feasts to secret suppers, sourdough to speakeasies, Savour The Tweed is a chance to see this stunning region through the eyes of those who shape it. Full program and tickets are available here.
