Mapleton Public House heads to Bar Miette for a Sunday lunch takeover
On Sunday November 16, the crew from lauded Sunshine Coast pub, Mapleton Public House, will be descending from its hinterland home to post up in the Bar Miette kitchen for a lunchtime feast. Owners Jessica Huddart, Ben Johnston and Cameron Matthews have established Mapleton Public House as a must-visit dining destination thanks to their famed farm-to-table culinary approach, drawing the venue’s larder of top-notch seasonal produce (much of which is also showcased on the menu at Bar Miette and Supernormal) from their regenerative farm, The Falls Farm.
For its Bar Miette takeover, the Mapleton Public House team will be putting on a spread that includes chicken parmy toast, potted smoked fish with potato chips and horseradish, beef intercostal skewers with Diane sauce, The Falls Farm green lasagna, Condabilla Murray cod with Pub de butter, and Jaffa gelato. All aboard Opa’s Sunset Sail for a Mediterranean river cruise
Have you been dreaming of sailing Greek seas with an ice-cold drink in your hand? This summer, Opa Mezze + Bar is setting sail from its waterfront location and hitting the river for a floating Mediterranean-inspired dining experience that you won’t need your passport for. Opa’s Sunset Sail invites guests aboard Oasis, a 500-person luxury yacht that will be transformed into a Greek-inspired, white linen affair from 5:00-9:00 pm on Sunday November 16. After boarding the Oasis at 4:30 pm from the City Botanical Gardens, guests can soak up golden hour while sailing the Brisbane River to the sounds of Euro-inspired beats spun by special guest DJs. Opa’s chefs will prepare Greek mezze and a curated canape menu, paired with a complimentary drink on arrival and four drink tickets to use throughout the night. Sprawl out across Oasis’ two levels to catch stunning panoramic views of Brisbane’s iconic landmarks from the rooftop deck and dance the night away as the sunset melts into a starry night sky. Attimi’s Express Banquet Lunch brings fine dining to the workday
It’s time to retire tired work lunches. Attimi by Dario Manca, one of Brisbane’s best degustation restaurants, just launched its Express Banquet Lunch, bringing a touch of fine dining to the workday. From Thursdays to Saturdays, Attimi will be offering a snapshot of its acclaimed Two Chef Hat dining experience with curated two- and three- course menus, small enough to enjoyed within an hour, but indulgent enough to send you back to the office revived. Diners can enjoy a playful menu showcasing entrees like sous-vide octopus and carasau flatbread, and mains including the seafood carbonara with black squid-ink tonnarelli and coral trout foam, and porchetta-style duck with potatoes, strawberries and beetroot. With an elegant heritage dining room located on Paddington’s Given Terrace, workaholics can enrich their lunch break by catching a taste of fine dining during the workday rush. Sunday Dumplings at Supernormal Brisbane
Sundays at Supernormal are getting a little steamier. The restaurant’s kitchen is rolling out an all-new line-up of dumplings, snacks and a few off-menu surprises inspired by the flavours of Hong Kong, Korea, Japan and Northern China. Expect the likes of Moreton Bay Bug toast, golden potstickers with crisp edges, pillowy BBQ pork buns, silky prawn and chicken dumplings with chilli vinegar, and oxtail parcels brightened with red radish and orange. To sip, the team’s pouring house-made chūhai – Tokyo-style highballs of shochu and soda – light, spritzy and tailor-made for sunny Brisbane afternoons. Lune Lab, Lune Croissanterie’s cherished seasonal showcase, is making its return
Australia’s favourite pastry innovator Lune Croissanterie is bringing back Lune Lab – a fan-favourite event showcasing the venue’s latest creations and delicacies in an exclusively intimate setting. Lune Lab Vol. II will offer an after-hours, six-course dining experience on a five-week run, evolving from season to season for a freshly unique menu each time. With a maximum of ten seats available per session, guests can witness first-hand the chefs’ creative freedom as they showcase their boundary-bending skills without the crowds that the croissanterie typically draws. Lune’s recently announced spring menu features gin-cured salmon paired with a Lune brioche coated with nori butter, duck with croissant gratin, chard and jus, and a rhubarb, ginger and buffalo yoghurt tart. Dished up on a series of plates dynamically designed to highlight texture, temperature, presentation and flavour, Lune’s masterfully curated spring menu will run on Fridays and Saturdays from October 31 to November 29.
