Line x Hellenika – Shared Lineage, presented by Tequila Don Julio 1942
On Saturday February 21, Hellenika and Tequila Don Julio 1942 will welcome master mixologist Giannis Vavadakis from celebrated cocktail bar Line Athens to Brisbane for a one-night-only alfresco affair. Known for its industrial-chic vibes, zero-waste philosophy and unconventional approach to drink making, Line – ranked number eight in the World’s 50 Best Bars 2025 list – blends contemporary Athenian drinking culture with Greek culinary tradition to incredible results. A slice of that philosophy will be on display at Hellenika, where head chef Bryan Kelly will collaborate with Giannas on a vibrant dining experience featuring traditional Greek fare matched with top-tier drinks. Giannis will craft three bespoke cocktails, each designed to showcase the depth and warmth of Tequila Don Julio 1942. Expect to see Line’s signature clarified punch, which is layered with tropical fruit, brown butter and toasted coconut. Two of the three cocktails remain on Hellenika’s beverage menu beyond the event, with the partnership extending into autumn. Priced at $120 per person, the experience includes a curated banquet and a signature cocktail on arrival, with limited seatings from 5:30 pm and tickets available now via the Hellenika website.

Iris Rooftop celebrates World Margarita Day with a spicy six-week fling
Do you consider yourself classic, spicy, fruity or cool? This World Margarita Day, adopt an alter ego as Iris Rooftop celebrates the occasion with six weeks of Patrón-packed margarita specials, each with its own salty personality. Kicking off just before official World Margarita Day, the Fortitude Valley rooftop bar invites tequila fans to meet their match from Wednesday February 18 to Sunday March 29, when they introduce four new margaritas and quiz cards to find the perfect personalised sip. For the bold and confident one with a little attitude, there’s the spicy marg paired with tomate triturado en pan. Or perhaps you prefer something clean, balanced and timeless – in that case, the classic margarita is for you, with crab tostada on the side, of course. For the social butterfly among us, there’s the fruity marg with its vibrant and playful burst of flavour, which comes paired with tomato and oregano croquettes with chimmi rojo. Last, but certainly not least, is the cold, smooth and unapologetically indulgent margarita paired with baked half-shell scallops, for the cool friend who wants to chill out and enjoy a mini holiday in a glass. Guests can order their margarita on its own for $19 per drink or trade up to the Tequila & Tapas menu for $34 where each drink is paired with a tapas dish for an extra playful experience.

Rise & Vibe
A forthcoming event will flip the script on nightlife on Saturday February 28 with Rise & Vibe, a one-off cafe rave presented by King Street and AM Social. Transforming the beloved Queen Amann Bakery into a high-energy dance floor, Rise & Vibe swaps midnight martinis for morning macchiatos. Inspired by the international cafe rave movement that has swept cities from Paris to New York, the free morning event brings DJs Talisha and Teeks alongside fast-rising electronic act Kinder Sounds for an early-hours set powered by caffeine, connection and feel-good sound. Part of the wider King St Uncovered program celebrating the precinct’s evolving food, music and cultural identity, the event reflects a new kind of community moment, where bakeries double as dance floors and music amplifies spaces already made for gathering. Entry is free – get more info here.
