Brisbane Powerhouse is welcoming a new era of the acclaimed culinary festival Night Feast in 2026 with a seasonal shift and the addition of a one-day-only theatrical long lunch.
In 2026, Night Feast is switching up the seasons, hosting its month-long after-dark festivities in the middle of winter. Running from July 29 through August 23, Night Feast will be pairing cooler nights with a hot selection of eats, encouraging guests to fully immerse themselves in boundary-pushing bites and captivating art concepts.
As part of its new winter era, Night Feast will host Better Off Red on Sunday August 16, an indulgent culinary performance hosted in collaboration with iconic Brisbane eateries Bosco and Blackbird. Better Off Red will transform the Powerhouse precinct’s performance lawn into a celebration of bold flavours, artful theatrics and all things crimson, with a smorgasbord of exclusive dishes crafted by leading culinary talents, Simon Hill from Bosco and Blackbird’s Jake Nicholson.
The carefully curated menu includes jamon serrano with fire-roasted peppers, grilled tiger prawns with romesco, chorizo glazed in hard cider, Angus ribeye with red-wine jus and Cuban-spiced spring lamb with quince and mint. d’Arenberg wines will flow, providing perfectly paired premium pours to complement the feast.
“As if Night Feast wasn’t indulgent enough, Better Off Red is an opportunity to push things even further,” says Simon Hill. “Better Off Red will be a bold, multi-sensory food and wine experience that’s set to become a true centrepiece of the festival.”
Louise Bezzina, CEO and artistic director at Brisbane Powerhouse notes, “For my first season at the helm of Night Feast, we wanted to challenge the traditional festival format by introducing a truly visceral, daylight dimension to our program.”
Tickets to Better Off Red begin at $269, which covers all food, a three-hour beverage package and live performances. Click here to get your tickets.
