In less than two months, one of the country’s most exciting regional food festivals will return with a five-day celebration encompassing 25 curated events. Running from October 21-25, the festival offers a chance to sample one of Australia’s most delicious culinary regions. As Savour the Tweed gets ready to plate up, here are five standout events worth saving your appetite for.

On the opening day of Savour the Tweed, the M|Arts precinct will bring artists and art lovers together to celebrate the culture, people and stories of the region with a major photographic exhibition. Entwined by acclaimed Australian photographer Rob Palmer will showcase the intersection of people, food and places of the Tweed, from growers in their fields to chefs in the kitchens. Hosted by Magdalena Roze, the event will also feature local DJs spinning tunes and plates from Rosefina’s Mexican-inspired menu as guests are invited to ponder the stories behind Savour the Tweed.
Wednesday October 21 | M|Arts Precinct | 5:00–8:00 pm

High up in the hills of Carool, Potager’s flourishing kitchen garden will guide this shared lunch, collaboratively designed by head chef Aaron Teece and leading industry sustainability champion Jez Wick. Together, the two will build a primarily plant-based menu, but also showcase premium beef from Bellingdale Farm Speckle Park Cattle, bringing together what’s grown on the land with what’s raised and sourced locally. Beginning with a guided kitchen garden tour, guests will then settle in with a cocktail on arrival before being treated to a four-course menu inspired by the region’s unique culinary intersection of hinterland, rainforest, farmland and coastline. Inspired by the team’s deep commitment to regenerative, organic and zero-waste farming practices, the special lunch will offer a menu that is totally connected to place.
Friday October 23 | Potager Kitchen Garden, Carool | 11:30 am–3:00 pm

This five-course dinner invites guests to taste the connection between healthy ecosystems created on the land and transformed onto the plate by Tweed chefs Andy Mac and Jay Elbrihi. Through connections with small scale regenerative farmers at A Little Greener Farm, Rainbow Regen and We Forest Earth, the two chefs have sourced endemic species of mycellium, foraged fungi and rainforest ingredients. Farmers Rachel Sanderson and Pierre Loiseau will join guests for dinner, sharing their knowledge about growing nutrient-dense organic foods, the varieties and flavour profiles of endemic mushrooms and the important role they play in linking land, foragers and the food on your plate.
Friday October 23 | Black Drop Cafe, Pottsville | 5:30–9:30 pm
