From boutique buzz to lifestyle loves – and the hidden gems in-between – Vibe Check is your finger on the pulse to what’s hot and happening in the world of beauty, design and fashion in Brisbane. When we checked the vibe this week, here’s what we found …

La Burns to open in New Farm later this month
New Farm’s wellness scene will soon get a whole lot spicier with the announcement of a new modern movement studio opening at the tail end of the month. La Burns will be located on Little Lane (the home of Idle Bakery) and will focus on non-heated mat-only classes with a ten-person class size, ensuring everyone’s form is correct and there is no hiding in the background. Founded by Zac Lazerac and Nikki Black (well-known in the Newstead community for their popular wine bar and cafe Niky) alongside business partner Larissa, the team will bring over nine years of pilates experience and dietetics to the mat. They offer various styles of pilates sessions to prioritise flow, form and intentional movement, where every movement sculpts, strengthens and, of course, burns (so you know it’s working). Designed in collaboration with Studio Doma, the minimalist space will feature terracotta-hued walls, cork floors, a statement feature wall and ample mirrors. For the first few months, La Burns will be running a ‘Saturday Service’ event which includes free 30-minute express classes from 7:30–10:00 am. Don’t forget to check out La Burns Instagram page for the official opening date and word of any community collaborations and events announcements.
