’Tis the season of workplace Secret Santas, shopping-centre scrambles and the eternal hunt for something thoughtful for your cousin and their dog. If the idea of sending another bottle of bubbles or a cookie-cutter hamper makes you yawn, meet Good Neighbours – the Gold Coast brand turning gifting into an art form, one beautifully curated box at a time.

Created by Jennie Morris, Good Neighbours celebrates local artisans, makers and producers through intentional, handcrafted gift boxes that feel as good to give as they do to receive. “I returned to live on the Gold Coast after many years overseas and I was so delightfully surprised by how many cool local brands had popped up,” Jennie says. “I was really inspired to create a business that championed these amazing brands and showcased the Gold Coast as the creative and entrepreneurial destination that it has become.”

What started as a passion project quickly became a purpose-driven business. Each Good Neighbours box is a thoughtful edit of small-batch products sourced from independent creators, from hand-poured candles and ceramics to craft chocolate, natural skincare and locally roasted coffee. “While I was living away, I really struggled to find interesting gifts to send to family and friends back home,” Jennie explains. “It was either flowers, or generic gift hampers with the obligatory Chandon and Ferrero Rochers. Nothing was unique or distinctly Gold Coast. I wanted to gift something more meaningful and joy-filled – that was a big reason that Good Neighbours was born.”

That sense of connection extends to every box, right down to the makers featured inside. Jennie personally meets the artisans she works with, ensuring each collaboration feels authentic and intentional. “It was important for me to meet as many of the people behind the products as possible. I was drawn to the energy of the founders and the passion they had for their products,” she says. “I chose people and products that had interesting stories and real authenticity. That’s why I created a ‘meet the makers’ section on our website – so people can read the stories and feel more connected to these local brands.”

From Currumbin Clay Works ceramics and Little Cocoa artisanal chocolates to Cannabella Skincare, The Laughing Pug coffee and Mr Consistent cocktail mixes, every box is a love letter to the Gold Coast’s growing creative scene. It’s a reminder that gifting doesn’t have to be boring – it can be intentional, personal and proudly local.

So whether you’re ticking off your Secret Santa list, saying thanks to a client, or simply spoiling someone special, Good Neighbours is here to make sure your gifts are as thoughtful as they are beautiful. Because good gifting, like good neighbours, is all about heart. Check it out here.
