Council has signed off on a development application for the lower ground level of the Burleigh Pavilion precinct, paving the way for a new wellness destination to open alongside its namesake restaurant and bar, and dining spots The Tropic and Rick Shores. The new venture, to be called The Bathers Burleigh Pavilion, will transform the under-utilised lower level into a purpose-built space for health and wellbeing.
The approved plans for The Bathers Burleigh Pavilion include a sizeable wellness-style space complete with an indoor pool, steam room, sauna and yoga/Pilates studio, as well as a new restaurant with an outdoor terrace facing the ocean. According to the documents, two of the existing swimming pools and the gymnasium will make way for the upgraded facilities, with a new entry point to be created off Goodwin Terrace providing direct access to the lower ground floor.
The multi-million-dollar project has been referred to as The Bathers Burleigh Pavilion, with an opening expected in mid-2026. While the finer details – including food concepts and design features – are still to be revealed, anticipation is already building for what’s set to be a game-changing addition to Burleigh’s dining and lifestyle scene.
