Dayo Cafe has officially opened on the Tweed Heads waterfront, taking over the expansive site previously home to Baked at Ancora. The 120-seat venue has been given a complete refresh by KOBI Concepts, blending pastel tones, soft textures and nostalgic touches inspired by 90s Filipino homes. Most of the seating is picnic-style tables overlooking the water, with a covered section and a few indoor spots providing options no matter the weather.
The menu is rooted in Filipino and Southeast Asian traditions with a modern twist. Highlights include the spicy Longganisa scramble with house-made Filipino sausage, the crowd-pleasing K-Pop chicken waffle with spicy maple and tomato mascarpone, and the hearty beef omurice. Burgers, breaky rolls, rice bowls and sweet dishes like the strawberry matcha French toast round out the offering, alongside smoothies, spritzes and Ground Control coffee. Open daily for breakfast and lunch, Dayo is a waterfront brunch spot worth seeking out.
