Hot Mess Deli is Varsity Lakes’ new neighbourhood sandwich spot from chef Matthew Sidoti, serving seriously stacked sangas made from scratch. Expect a golden grilled cheese served in a puddle of spicy ’nduja vodka sauce, a Reuben piled with house-made corned beef and grilled mortadella layered with scamorza, fried egg, pesto and pickles. The menu will keep evolving with seasonal produce and limited off-menu specials, alongside specialty coffee and playful sips like tiramisu-inspired cold foam. Beyond the food, Matt wants Hot Mess to bring back old-fashioned hospitality, creating the kind of local where the team knows your name and your order.
