In honour of one of Australia’s most legendary bands, HOTA and Queensland Ballet are teaming up this September to deliver Elegantly Wasted, a bold contemporary ballet performance set to the music of INXS.
The 65-minute commission has been put together by Belgian-Colombian choreographer Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, responsible for Queensland Ballet’s 2024 sell-out hit Coco Chanel: the Life of a Fashion Icon, who said she was unable to resist the opportunity to reinterpret the work of INXS through ballet.
The project has been blessed by INXS founding member and composer Andrew Farriss, who described Elegantly Wasted as a fresh artistic interpretation that stands on its own.
Elegantly Wasted will run for from Thursday September 10 to Saturday September 12 across various showtimes. Tickets are now available on the HOTA website.
