Winter weekends are looking particularly tempting at Nobby’s Beach Surf Club, with the beachfront local rolling out a full calendar of June specials and events. From steak nights and oyster afternoons to live acoustic sessions and whale watching, there’s plenty happening by the sea this month.
For June only, the club’s headline members special is a 500g ribeye on the bone served with buttered mash, steamed greens and mushroom sauce for $65 for members and $75 for non-members – ideal for cooler evenings with a group of friends and a glass of cab sav in hand. Midweek plans are also sorted thanks to the launch of Wednesday Steak Night, where a 200g rump with chips, salad and sauce is on offer for $19.90 for members and $29.90 for non-members from 5:00 pm.
Every Saturday in winter from 3:00–5:00 pm, Champagne & Oysters takes over the surf club with freshly shucked oysters for $2.50 each paired with chilled Pommery, while Sundays roll into easygoing live acoustic sessions from 1:00–4:00 pm overlooking the ocean.
June also marks the return of humpback whale season – and with the surf club perched right on the coastline, there’s every chance you’ll spot migrating whales breaching offshore. Better yet, binoculars are available for guests to borrow, so you can settle in with a drink and keep an eye on the horizon between bites.
