For the past decade, Mamasan in Broadbeach has been a beloved destination for modern Pan-Asian dining, whether it’s a special occasion or a casual date night. Now, as the restaurant marks its 10-year milestone, owners Lauren and JP Duitsch are celebrating by turning the page on a bold new chapter – a full-scale renovation of the iconic venue. But don’t worry, the Mamasan experience isn’t going anywhere. Enter BabyMama – a sleek, intimate pop-up set to open in the heart of Nobby Beach, serving up a curated taste of everything fans love. Set to open later this month, BabyMama is all about keeping the soul of Mamasan alive, but with its own distinct charm. Think cosy bar vibes, a moody fit-out and a menu that plays with the classics while teasing a few fresh ideas of its own.
Helming the kitchen will be newly appointed executive chef Sebastian Tan, who brings serious firepower to the pans. With 18-plus years of experience in globally renowned kitchens like Hakkasan and St. Regis, chef Tan’s take on East Asian cuisine is polished, playful and anything but predictable.
The menu is set to spotlight a mix of Mamasan favourites alongside exciting new dishes that reflect Tan’s signature style – clean flavours, unexpected combinations and a modern twist on tradition.

To round things out, BabyMama’s drinks list delivers a tightly curated selection of handcrafted cocktails that locals already rave about alongside a rotating wine list designed to complement the menu with every sip.
“BabyMama is our way of staying connected to our community while we work to bring to life a new era of Mamasan that’s even bigger than before,” says owners Lauren and JP Duitsch. “We wanted to create something intimate and exciting, where our guests can still get their Mamasan fix – with a few surprises.”
