Tastes of Southport isn’t your typical food court. Think steamy bowls of hand-pulled Lanzhou noodles, fragrant Malaysian laksa, sizzling Korean street snacks and delicate Japanese choux cream pastries. Whether you’re chasing a midday dumpling fix or lingering over bubble tea and egg waffles with friends, Tastes of Southport offers a flavour-packed passport to Asia — and beyond.
“This precinct reflects the incredible diversity of our community and the love of food,” says Louise Jurgs, senior marketing manager at Australia Fair. “We’ve curated an experience with our hospitality tenants that brings people together through food – whether you’re craving bold Asian spices, fresh baked European pastries, or something quick and comforting.”
From the umami-rich beef noodle soups at 1919 Lanzhou Beef Noodle and handmade udon bowls at Jiraiya, to classic Malaysian favourites like roti canai and curry laksa at PappaRich, the precinct brings authentic flavours to every corner. Korean eats are well represented, with Itaewon K-Street Food serving bulgogi rice bowls and tteokbokki, while NeNe Chicken dishes up crispy Korean fried chicken with flaming mayo. Over at Mangkok Avenue, Filipino comfort dishes like soy chicken are on offer alongside ube desserts, while Mini Hot Pot and Zhang Liang Malatang deliver bubbling, build-your-own hotpot experiences. Handmade dumplings take centre stage at Delicious Dumpling Dynasty, EHA Dumplings and Fenku Rice Noodles, while dessert lovers will find it hard to resist the Japanese cream choux from Kurimu or the indulgent cheese tarts from Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart. Newcomers like Bun Bun Bao, Pierre’s Pastry, Milk Flower and CocoArt round out the experience with everything from banh mi and rice-paper rolls to tropical smoothies and traditional Greek sweets.
One of the best things about Tastes of Southport is the way it’s been designed — more like a bustling hawker-style market than a traditional dining precinct. With nearly 50 eateries clustered close together across Australia Fair and Australia Fair Metro, you don’t have to settle for just one cuisine. Instead, you can graze your way through a world of flavours, picking up dumplings here, a rice bowl there and finishing with something sweet, all in one trip.
