Giuseppe’s Deli is a recalibration rather than a reinvention. Taking over from Papa Luigi’s at The Oxley, the team has refined the concept into something simpler and more flexible, shaped by how locals were already ordering. The result is a casual deli built around a signature focaccia, seriously stuffed sandwiches, comfort-driven Italian flavours and an approach that feels easy. Here’s everything you need to know …
The focus at Giuseppe’s Deli is now firmly on a build-your-own model. Start with your base, choose between focaccia, Burleigh Baker sourdough, thick-cut white bread or a wrap, then layer it with cured meats, roast meats, cheeses, vegetables and sauces to suit your mood. Prosciutto, mortadella and salami sit alongside provolone and mozzarella, while fillings range from fresh tomato and rocket to pickled onion, zucchini and fried shallots. It’s simple, satisfying and easy to personalise to make it perfect for you.
Beyond the sandwiches, the menu stays tight and comforting. Fresh pasta dishes are available from Wednesday to Sunday and include a proper carbonara made without cream, pappardelle with slow-cooked bolognese, gnocchi with pesto and roasted tomatoes, and farfalle with tomato and cherry mozzarella. Pizzas will also be available alongside pizzettas – focaccia-style slabs baked with rotating toppings and cut into generous squares for an easy grab-and-go option.
There are also antipasto platters stacked with salumi, cheeses, olives, fruit and focaccia, designed for sharing or stretching lunch into something longer.
At Giuseppe’s Deli, nothing feels overcomplicated. It’s casual, adaptable and grounded in good produce, making it a welcome addition to The Oxley – and a spot you’ll likely find yourself returning to, sandwich order slightly tweaked each time.
