Much-loved Gold Coast institution Nobby’s Beach Surf Life Saving Club has entered an exciting new era after joining The Bears Group – the community-driven force behind venues like Burleigh Leagues Club, Burleigh Sports Club and the Burleigh Bears Rugby League Club. The new partnership, which kicked off in early December, blends 70 years of heritage with a fresh wave of momentum – and for members and visitors, that means a raft of exciting changes, including a huge renovation due to kick off in 2027.
While the Nobby’s Beach SLSC continues its proud role on the sand through patrols, surf sports and community programs, The Bears Group has taken on the commercial and hospitality operations inside The Supporters Club, bringing decades of experience in club-style dining and a people-first approach to one of the Gold Coast’s most iconic beachfront settings.
Refreshed bistro and bar menus have already been warmly received, elevating the dining experience with polished club favourites alongside coastal-inspired dishes. Expect a strong focus on quality ingredients, with top-tier Australian beef, fresh seafood and seasonal local produce featured throughout.
Classic crowd-pleasers like parmies, Darling Downs steaks and generous seafood platters sit comfortably beside more contemporary offerings, including Stone & Wood-battered lobster tacos, a towering field-mushroom and Byron Bay haloumi burger, bush-spiced Kilcoy lamb kebabs and a Sunday-only chef’s roast served with duck-fat potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and all of the trimmings.
