Southport Sharks has Easter weekend sorted with feasts, footy and family fun

Easter on the Gold Coast calls for equal parts feasting and fun, and this year the team at Southport Sharks is serving up a long-weekend itinerary that covers both.

Running from April 1–30, Frenzy’s special Easter Feast brings a seasonal twist to the club’s famous buffet, with festive additions woven through the already generous spread. Expect carved baked leg ham, fragrant lamb and apricot tagine, pillowy pesto gnocchi and baked Atlantic salmon alongside the usual line-up of roasts, salads and wok favourites. The dessert station leans into the occasion too, with Easter eggs and sweet treats adding extra excitement for diners of all ages.

Locals can kick off the Easter long weekend on Thursday April 2 with an indulgent buffet dinner from 5:30 pm, followed by Easter-themed raffles from 6:00 pm. Good Friday on April 3 sees the club and outlets take a pause, before the action ramps up again on Easter Saturday. Early risers can hop to the buffet breakfast in Frenzy’s from 7:30–10:00 am, with kids eating free.

From 11:00 am Saturday, the Triple M Street Team will bring the party live from the Sharks’ football fields, bringing a cash giveaway, face painting and an inflatable AFL kicker to keep little (and big) kids entertained. At 12:00 pm, the spotlight turns to the field for VFL round three (the Mackenzie Cup) with a clash between Southport Sharks and the Gold Coast Suns – before the Easter-themed dinner buffet returns from 5:30 pm at Frenzy’s. Cap it all off with free live entertainment from The Floorburners on the main stage from 8:30 pm.

Easter Sunday is when the family festivities hit full stride. The day begins with buffet breakfast in Frenzy’s from 7:30, followed by Easter raffles from 12:00 pm. From 5:00 pm, a free kids’ disco hosted by LOL Crew – complete with a visit from the Easter Bunny – brings the energy, alongside face painting, balloon artistry, a lolly bar and unlimited soft serve. Dinner leans seafood-heavy, with fresh Queensland prawns and mussels alongside the likes of baked ham, pizzas and hot dishes, ensuring there’s something for every appetite at the table.

On Easter Monday, the long weekend winds down with one final dinner buffet in Frenzy’s from 5:30 pm, with kids eating free – the perfect excuse to stretch the celebrations just a little longer.
