Mamma G’s is set to bring old-school Italian deli culture to Coolangatta

There’s something about a proper deli that just hits differently. No fuss, no overthinking – just good bread, quality ingredients and sandwiches stacked high, the way they should be. Soon, Coolangatta is getting exactly that with the arrival of Mamma G’s Deli, the latest culinary offering from the Gambaro Group. Here’s what we know so far …

Mamma G’s Deli is set to open this June on the ground floor of the Esprit Holidays apartments, bringing a slice of old-school Italian deli culture to the southern Gold Coast. The new spot comes from the team behind Pipi’s in Coolangatta, along with a stable of well-known Brisbane venues – and if their track record is anything to go by, expectations are already quietly high.

At its core, Mamma G’s is about doing the simple things properly. Expect generously filled sandwiches layered with cured meats, fresh produce and classic Italian flavours, alongside a selection of grab-and-go bites and quality coffee. There’s also set to be a pantry element in the mix, with a curated line-up of deli staples and provisions to take home – the kind of place you pop into for lunch and leave with a few extras under your arm.

Set against a breezy waterfront backdrop, the space is being designed to feel familiar from the outset – less polished showroom, more neighbourhood staple.

With its focus on straightforward food, warm hospitality and a format that’s proven to stand the test of time, Mamma G’s Deli is shaping up to be a welcome addition to Coolangatta’s growing food scene.

Mamma G’s Deli is slated to open in June. We’ll bring you a closer look next month.
