Robina Town Centre has welcomed an impressive new addition to its dining precinct with the arrival of Lim Nahm Thai, a striking new restaurant pairing elevated Thai cuisine with interactive dining experiences. From the hospitality group behind Limlay Thai in Burleigh Heads, Valyn Thai and Nahm Talay Thai in Surfers Paradise, the latest venture from Pattaree (Pat) Jiranuchaiwattana and Vitchaya (Alex) Hasitawet is the duo’s most ambitious Gold Coast restaurant to date.
Occupying two combined tenancies on The Promenade, Lim Nahm Thai has been created to suit everything from quick lunches and family dinners to date nights and celebrations. Seating 190 diners, the expansive venue unfolds across a series of thoughtfully designed spaces that somehow make you forget you’re in the middle of a shopping centre. Rich burgundy tones meet soft sage-green accents, lush trailing ferns spill from overhead planters, oversized globe pendants cast a warm glow and marble finishes elevate every corner. Outside, a leafy terrace opens onto the bustling precinct, while inside, a custom skylight imported from France bathes the dining room in natural light, creating an airy, welcoming atmosphere.
For Pat, who lives just five minutes from Robina Town Centre, Lim Nahm is a deeply personal project. She saw an opportunity to create the kind of restaurant she felt the area was missing – somewhere sophisticated for a special occasion, yet relaxed enough to become part of the weekly dinner rotation.
“We wanted this one to feel like it’s for families, for everyone,” says Pat. “Somewhere cosy and warm with authentic, delicious food and beautiful presentation.”
That philosophy carries through to the menu, which builds on the beautifully executed Thai flavours the hospitality group has become known for while introducing a handful of concepts created exclusively for Lim Nahm. Leading the charge are interactive hot pots, served bubbling over tabletop burners in either a creamy tom yum broth or a comforting mild soup, complete with noodles, vegetables and your choice of seafood or chicken and pork. Premium wagyu can also be added for a shabu-shabu-style experience, creating a meal that’s just as much about gathering around the table as it is about the food.
Elsewhere, the menu balances Thai tradition with a contemporary edge. Sizzling plates arrive with your choice of wagyu, lamb cutlets or tofu, accompanied by garlic pepper, mixed herb or chilli basil sauces, while dishes like the wagyu yellow curry pair tender slices of beef with turmeric, kale and betel leaves before being finished with a dusting of edible gold. House-made curry pastes, whole fish, skewers and vibrant salads sit alongside colourful cocktails, beer towers and desserts like mango sticky rice, resulting in a menu that’s both playful and polished.
Understanding the Robina community was central to shaping the restaurant. Lim Nahm is the first venue in the group’s portfolio to introduce dedicated lunch specials and a children’s menu, alongside generous sharing dishes like the jumbo chilli basil fried rice, making it just as appealing for a weekday lunch or family meal as it is for a celebration with friends.
For Pat and Alex, Lim Nahm represents the latest evolution of a hospitality group that’s spent more than a decade refining its approach to modern Thai dining. After opening 14 restaurants in 11 years, Pat says every new venue has been a learning experience.
“Every time I open a restaurant, I’m still learning,” she says.
The result is a restaurant that feels considered from every angle. From the thoughtfully designed interiors to the beautifully presented dishes and genuinely family-friendly approach, Lim Nahm isn’t simply another Thai restaurant – it’s the kind of neighbourhood restaurant you’ll find yourself returning to, whether you’re celebrating something special or simply chasing a very good bowl of tom yum.
