An unforgettable evening of French fare, flowing wine and meaningful connection – Riviera Soirée is returning to Sofitel
There’s something undeniably special about a long-table dinner. Perhaps it’s the way conversations naturally spill beyond the people you arrived with, or how a beautifully plated meal somehow tastes even better when shared. Whatever the reason, Riviera Soirée at Sofitel Gold Coast Broadbeach captures that feeling beautifully. Following the success of its inaugural event, the elegant dining experience will return this September, once again inviting guests to gather for an evening where exceptional food, premium French wine and genuine connection take centre stage.
Inspired by France’s iconic Fête de la Musique, Riviera Soirée sees Bistro On3 transformed into an intimate long-table setting, where flickering candlelight, towering gold candelabras and abundant florals create the backdrop for a leisurely evening of dining, music and conversation. From the moment guests arrive for Champagne and canapes, the pace shifts. This is a dinner designed to be savoured.
Executive Chef Yang Zhang guides diners through a seasonal four-course menu celebrating premium Australian produce with refined French influence, introducing each dish personally before it arrives at the table. Thoughtfully paired French wines flow throughout the evening, while live violin performances weave between courses, adding another layer to an atmosphere that feels warm and welcoming.
The inaugural menu showcased the calibre of what’s to come, beginning with delicate kingfish before moving to an elegant raviolo served in a rich bisque, beautifully cooked beef with broccolini and glossy jus, then finishing with dessert and a thoughtfully curated cheese course that encouraged guests to pour one last glass and linger a little longer.

What stayed with us most, though, wasn’t a particular dish. It was the atmosphere. Somewhere between the first pour of Champagne and the final course, conversations drifted across the table, glasses were raised between newfound friends and the room began to feel less like a restaurant and more like an elegant dinner party.
That sense of connection sits at the heart of Riviera Soirée. While the food and wine are undeniably exceptional, the evening is ultimately about bringing people together, celebrating the simple pleasure of sharing a memorable meal around one beautifully set table.
