Nobby Beach has a new pit stop for post-workout smoothies, excellent coffee and loaded sourdough, with Common Supply now open at The Oxley.
Common Supply has officially landed on the Gold Coast, bringing its particular brand of good-looking, feel-good fuel to The Oxley in Nobby Beach.
Founded by Jacob Hill and Phil Cooke, Common Supply first took shape in Bondi, where it quickly found a following before expanding into Sydney CBD. A London pop-up followed, and now the brand has turned its attention to the GC, choosing Nobby Beach for its first outpost.
Common Supply sits somewhere between a cafe and grab-and-go eatery, with a tight menu built around the things you actually want after a morning workout, surf or swim – smoothies, specialty coffee and tasty toasties.
Smoothies are the main event, and these aren’t the kind you have to convince yourself taste good just because they’re healthy. Choccy Supply is rich, chocolatey and completely dairy free, while Strawberry Bliss brings the nostalgia with its creamy pink blend. Common Gains caters to the protein-focused crowd, alongside The Green One and the suitably summery Tropical Supply.
The opening food menu is succinct but satisfying. The Spicy CLT brings a little heat, while the Chicken + Pesto layers house-made pesto, Roma tomatoes, rocket and provolone on toasted sourdough, finished with a balsamic drizzle. There are open toasts, too, slathered with the likes of creamy cheese and avocado, with a schmear of chilli bringing a welcome kick.
The philosophy behind it all is pretty simple – nutrition led and taste driven. Common Supply favours quality ingredients, free-range and grass-fed proteins where applicable and organic produce where possible, while skipping unnecessary fillers, preservatives and artificial ingredients.
For those who prefer their beverages caffeinated, Common Coffee is the brand’s specialty-coffee arm, pouring premium beans with organic alternative milks alongside seasonal sips.
Subscribe for updatesThe space itself is pared back and suitably Nobby’s. Textured block walls, stainless steel and flashes of greenery set the scene inside, while stools and a scattering of silver tables spill onto the footpath. It’s less about settling in for a leisurely two-hour brunch and more about pulling up a stool, demolishing a toastie and getting back to your day.
And this is only the beginning of Common Supply’s Gold Coast plans. The Oxley marks the first phase of its local expansion, with a larger flagship already earmarked for The Alfred, the new lifestyle precinct taking shape in Mermaid Beach, next year.
For now, though, Nobby’s gets first dibs. Common Supply may call itself a next-generation wellness destination, but you don’t need to know your macros or be fresh from a Pilates class to appreciate a cracking smoothie, good coffee and crunchy sourdough.
Common Supply is now open at The Oxley in Nobby Beach. Head to The Directory for opening times.
