Queensland sporting and business leaders will spend a night at one of Brisbane’s most visible rough sleeping sites in Roma Street Parkland, to help reach the 2026 Vinnies CEO Sleepout goal to raise $1.7 million to support people facing or at risk of homelessness.

The initiative is part of St Vincent de Paul Society’s broader Queensland CEO Sleepout campaign with a $2.7 million fundraising goal building on last year’s $2.55 million.

Funding from the Sleepout goes directly to the society’s 500 Homes program to deliver affordable housing for vulnerable Queenslanders.

Vinnies CEO Sleepout Ambassador, water polo Olympian and entrepreneur Toby Jenkins, will lead the Sleepout, joined by incoming CEO of Hockey QLD Rebecca Randazzo and CEO of ConnectingIN Elia Hill.

St Vincent de Paul Society QLD CEO Joe Duskovic said the support from Queensland’s sporting and business community sends a powerful message as the homelessness crisis reaches new heights.

“The Vinnies CEO Sleepout is about more than an uncomfortable night – it’s about Queensland leaders standing up and saying homelessness is not something we can ignore,” he said.

He added that the social housing waiting list currently sits at 59,000 people, including more than 11,400 in Brisbane.

“When our sporting and business community gets behind a cause, people notice. Toby, Rebecca, Elia and their fellow leaders are using their platforms to raise vital funds and awareness, on one of the longest nights of the year,” Duskovic said.

For the first time in the event’s history, the Brisbane Vinnies CEO Sleepout will be held at Roma Street Parkland, taking place on Thursday, June 18.
