Two new hotels will be built at Brisbane Airport amid rising demand from business, leisure and event-driven travel ahead of the 2032 Olympic Games.

The two new accommodation options will be adjacent to the international terminal and the fast-growing Skygate retail and entertainment precinct.

The first proposed mid to upper level development will directly service the international terminal and be adjacent to a new multi-level carpark.

The second development at Skygate will be next to the existing DFO, the 16-hectare entertainment hub Lander’s Pocket, and other specialty stores.

Brisbane Airport executive general manager commercial Scott Norris said both developments would offer unique advantages for operators seeking to establish a presence at Brisbane Airport.

“Brisbane Airport’s three current airport hotels are consistently at capacity, so there is no doubt there is demand for additional hotel rooms,” Norris explained.

He said every night, hundreds of people transited through Brisbane Airport before making connections across the state or around the world.

“Long-term, Brisbane requires thousands of new hotel rooms ahead of the 2032 Olympics and so we’re highly confident the airport can support five hotels,” Norris said.

“Brisbane Airport links to more domestic destinations than anywhere else in Australia allowing operators to tap into built-in, year-round demand that provides long-term value.”

Pullman Brisbane Airport was recently named the Best Airport Hotel in Australia and Pacific in the 2026 Skytrax World Airport Awards, its fifth win in six years.

2025 was Brisbane Airport’s busiest year on record, seeing 25 million passengers travelling through its domestic and international terminals.
