Marketing agency appoints new Managing Director
Brisbane-based agency TwentyTwo Digital has announced the appointment of Ashton Tuckerman as Managing Director and Sarah Pelecanos in the role of Founder.
The agency has also welcomed Holly Grindrod as its first Head of Client Services, and moved Head of Digital Mikayla Nicol to the agency’s Executive Leadership Team.
Tuckerman said the appointments represented a natural next step for the business.
“We’ve been intentionally building a business that isn’t reliant on any one person, and our new leadership structure reflects that work,” says Tuckerman. “It gives us the capacity to keep growing without compromising the quality of thinking or service our clients have come to expect from us.”
Pelecanos said the transition would allow her to spend more time on strategic projects while remaining closely connected to the agency she established in 2020.
“Ashton has played a pivotal role in TwentyTwo’s growth over the past two years, helping shape the business into what it is today,” Pelecanos said. “This appointment recognises both the impact she’s already had and where we’re heading next.”

as recently expanded with the appointment of a new Brisbane team, most notably two new partners Blake Frost and Kayla Causer.
Additional appointments include senior associate Stephanie Purser, solicitor Kimi Pace, paralegal Lulu Crampton and legal assistant Ella Nielsen.
The team will be led by Frost and Causer, who both bring extensive experience advising developers, contractors, consultants and government stakeholders across major construction, infrastructure and developments projects.
In a statement, the company said its new team also brings significant experience spanning project procurement, delivery, contract negotiation, risk management and all forms of disputer resolution.
Managing Partner Dr Andrew Murray said “The addition of Blake, Kayla, Steph and Kimi further strengthens our construction capability in the Queensland market and more broadly. They are a strong complement to our national construction practice and its continued growth trajectory.”
Energy Queensland elects new CEO

Energy Queensland has announced the appointment of Craig McCabe as Chief Executive Officer and he has now stepped into the role on July 13.
McCabe brings more than 30 years of leadership experience across mining, industrial services, contracting and large-scale operational businesses, with a strong focus on safety, operational discipline and people-centred leadership.
Most recently, McCabe served as CEO of Jellinbah Group, and also has been CEO at Stanmore Coal, held senior executive roles with Wesfarmers Resources, including COO and CEO, as well as Wesfarmers Curragh.
Energy Queensland Chair Patrick Brady said McCabe’s extensive experience leading large, geographically dispersed workforces and operating across regional Queensland communities, along with his strong personal connection to regional Queensland, positioned him well to lead Energy Queensland into the future.
“His leadership and experience align strongly with our focus on safety, long-term value creation, and continued transformation across the organisation,” Brady said.
UQ farewells Chancellor and makes way for next
The University of Queensland has welcomed its 15th Chancellor Emeritus Professor Mary O’Kane AC, who stepped into the role on Monday, July 13.
O’Kane has made significant contributions to education, research and innovation in Australia over her distinguished 45-year career.
“I look forward to working with the Vice-Chancellor and Senate to advance UQ’s mission to deliver for the public good through excellence in education, research and engagement with our communities and partners,” O’Kane said.
The university has recognised Chancellor Peter Varghese AO’s “steady and thoughtful leadership” as his UQ tenure ends after a decade in the role.
UQ Vice-Chancellor Professor Deborah Terry AC extended her thanks to Varghese for his “remarkable contribution” to UQ.
“Since his appointment in 2016, UQ’s global profile has strengthened, our community partnerships have deepened, and Peter has led initiatives that will ensure UQ will continue to deliver impact for generations to come,” she said.
