For us, the perfect weekend always starts with a morning visit to the markets. We love waking up bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, ready to collect fresh produce, try out the tasty market snacks, shop for some home trinkets or shop for things we really don’t need, but deserve! If you’re keen to support local and get some fresh air at the same time, use our guide to the best weekend markets across Brisbane. 

If you’re all about fresh, local and straight from the farms

Saturday Fresh Market, Rocklea – Saturday, 6:00 am to 12:00 pm
If you’ve never ventured to Rocklea to get a glimpse of the famous Saturday Fresh Market, then you can’t say you know your markets. With more than 220 stalls boasting a huge array of fruit, vegetables, meat, poultry, flowers, breads and smallgoods, the Saturday Fresh Market is the largest fresh-food market in Brisbane. The market is also host to great coffee stops and international food vendors, ensuring it can cater to all comers. 

Jan Powers Farmers Market, Brisbane Powerhouse – Saturday, 6:00 am to 12:00 pm
The picturesque surrounds of Brisbane Powerhouse play host to Jan Powers Farmers Market every Saturday morning. Start your spree with a coffee then commence your search for the perfect morsel – the market has sausages, dumplings, felafel pockets, banh mis and crepes, plus a range of juice stalls, smallgoods vendors and more. Dogs are more than welcome. 

Northey Street City Farm Organic Market, Windsor – Sunday, 6:00–11:00 am
If you like markets that really embody a sense of community, then the Northey Street City Farm Organic Market is the one for you. This market specialises in organic food, ranging from produce and breads to meats and more. You can also browse stalls and suitcases filled with goods (many of which are made from repurposed items and materials) from low-impact makers, crafters and designers. 

West End Markets, Davies Park – Saturday, 6:00 am to 2:00 pm
The West End Markets at Davies Park are one of the most popular Saturday morning spots for good reason – it has everything. The fresh produce is top notch, the coffee selection is impressive and there’s plenty of live entertainment. If you’re keen to break your fast, you can find the likes of NYC Bagel Deli, Roesti Revolution and many more famous food stalls here.

The Milton Markets, Milton – Sunday, 7:00 am to 1:00 pm
The Milton Markets is the perfect morning go-to for inner-west locals to source a nice blend of lifestyle goodies and tasty food. The market boast more than 120 stalls, live-music performances and kids activities for those keen to start their Sunday the right way. Nundah Farmers Markets, Nundah – Sunday, 6:00 am to 12:00 pm
The thriving inner-north suburb of Nundah boasts its own stellar market on Sundays, serving up freshly roasted coffee, breakfast bites, gourmet meats, fresh seafood, herbs and spices, as well as flowers, plants, and arts and crafts. Situated a short walk from Nundah Village, there is an abundance of free parking, making the Nundah Farmers Markets a handy spot to get some shopping done or catch up with friends. 

Carseldine Farmers & Artisan Markets, Carseldine – Saturday, 6:00 am to 12:00 pm
One of the largest markets on the scene is home to a stunning array of stalls of all shapes and sizes. The Carseldine Farmers & Artisan Markets can be found on the old QUT Carseldine campus and features a comprehensive range of appetising and inspiring vendors – from growers and fishmongers to hobby stalls and designer crafts. There is also plenty of live music, activities for kids and heaps of seating. 

Kelvin Grove Village Markets, QUT Urban Village Kelvin Grove – Saturday, 6:00 am to 1:00 pm
QUT Kelvin Grove is the home to The Village Markets, an ever-reliable resource for those looking to stock up on supplies or commence their weekend unwind. This market offers quality, farm-fresh produce and lots of crafts from local artisans, as well as plenty of leafy spots to relax and people watch. 

Jan Powers Farmers Markets Manly, Manly – every first and third Saturday of the month, 6:00 am to 12:00 pm
What better way to start a Saturday than with a coffee in hand and the sea breeze on your face? The Jan Powers Farmers Market at Manly is located on the waterfront at Little Bayside Park near Manly Harbour Village. This mini village offers a huge range of market fare, as well as delicious coffee and French delicacies. 

Riverside Markets, Brisbane City Botanic Gardens – Sunday, 8:00 am to 3:00 pm
Brisbane’s riverside has been home to markets for more than 30 years, consistently drawing in custom from tourists and locals keen to get a bit of sun, some fresh air and some great food. The Riverside Markets at the Brisbane City Botanic Gardens is a picturesque spot to enjoy your Sunday morning.

The Bardon Markets, Paddington – Sunday, 7:00 am to 12:00 pm
The Bardon Markets is a family-friendly place to get your weekly produce, an energising coffee hit or some delicious brunch. The assembled stores sell everything from baked bread, fruit and veg, meat and fish to dog treats, dog accessories, and even plants. Enjoy the live music as the kids play in the park and you sip your coffee with a few friends. 

Mount Gravatt Farmers Market, Mount Gravatt – Sunday, 6:00 am to 12:00 pm
The Mount Gravatt Showgrounds is converted every Sunday to house the Mount Gravatt Farmers Markets. Spend the morning powering through a variety of fruit and vegetables, second-hand goods, flea market stalls and more before relaxing with a feed from one of the incredible food vendors on site.

If you prefer markets after dark

Eat Street Northshore, Hamilton – Friday and Saturday 4:0010:00 pm, Sunday 4:009:00 pm
A weekend outing institution, this lively hub – housed within a former container wharf – features a jaw-dropping collection of stalls offering international street eats and drinks. With river views, more than 180 dining options and live entertainment, Eat Street is a perfect evening destination for a date night, family outing or even a solo adventure. 

Alien Night Market, Underwood  – Friday and Saturday 5:00–10:00 pm, Sunday, 4:00–9:00 pm
The quirky space known as Area 51 is open every weekend with food stalls, a beer garden and array of kid activities – including roller skating and karaoke nights. Be sure to check out the website for an up-do-date list of what’s on. 

Milton by Moonlight, Milton – various Saturdays, 4:0010:00 pm
Cribb Street precinct transforms into a buzzing night market with over 140 vendors including gourmet street eats, artisan treasures and live entertainment. For event dates, check out the website here

If you love unique finds and handmade treasures

BrisStyle Twilight Markets, King George Square – various Fridays, 4:00–9:00 pm
Experience the one and only Brisbane-based marketplace selling 100-percent locally handmade goods. Featuring local designers and artists – and perfectly positioned in the hustle and bustle of King George Square – these markets are perfect for a Friday night shop after work. 

The Great Artist Market, Felons Barrel Hall – various dates
Discover a marketplace full of bespoke and mindfully created items at Howard Smith Wharves. This recurring community event is aimed at connecting local artists and makers with shoppers in a fun atmosphere down by the Brisbane River. For more information, check out the website here

The Collective Markets, South Bank – Fridays from 5:00–9:00 pm, Saturdays from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm and Sundays from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
One of the best markets for artisan-crafted goodies, The Collective Markets has been a go-to place to nab something special for yourself or a loved on. Here, you’ll find everything – think jewellery, art, home decor and clothing (everything from trending fashion and vintage clothing), as well as unique collectibles, photography and art. Take your time strolling through and grab a bite from the many food stalls that also participate.

The Market Folk, various locations
Shop slowly and locally at one of The Market Folk markets popping up around Brisbane. From Mother’s Day to Dog’s Day Out markets – the variety is endless. Click here to discover the next market location near you. 

The Made Local Market, John Reid Pavilion, Brisbane Showgrounds bi-annually on a Saturday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm (with a low-sensory hour from 3:00–4:00 pm)
The only problem with these markets is that they need to be more frequent in our calendars. Situated over two days at John Reid Pavilion, this is the largest craft and design market in Brisbane. Love Me Again Markets, Milton, Stafford and Morningside Sunday, 8:00 am to 12:00 pm
This market is filled with rent-a-rack boutiques featuring pre-loved fashion, with a selection of shoes and accessories also available. Click here to find out when the next market is. 

The Curated Market, various locations – Saturday, various times
The Curated Market is making moves across Brisbane and the Gold Coast, with influencer and designer fashion pieces ready to shop at their events. Keep your eyes peeled on its website for the next date announcement. 

Lil J’s Vintage Markets, Paddington – Sunday, 6:00 am to 12:00 pm
Lil J’s Vintage Markets has evolved into a Brisbane staple for vintage streetwear and second-hand fashion. Head to Bizzell Garage in Paddington for a lively atmosphere of clothing, records, plants and bric-a-brac. 

Brisbane Vintage Exchange, Windsor – monthly market, various times
Brisbane’s monthly vintage market is dedicated to exploring timeless fashion. For more information, check out the website here

Fashion Thrift Society, Brisbane Showgrounds – various dates, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
Australia’s biggest touring market offers everything from handmade clothing to tattoos, tooth gems, jewellery-making pop ups and more! All-day DJ sets, food trucks and drinks are also available. Check here for upcoming event dates.

Brisbane Suitcase Rummage, Reddacliff Place – every first and third Sunday of the month, 12:00–5:00 pm
Originating as a humble alternative to the community market scene, the Brisbane Suitcase Rummage has become a staple for alternative and upcycled clothing. Many a cherished wardrobe staple can be found here.

Her Wardrobe Markets, Mount Gravatt – Sunday, 8:00 am to 12:00 pm
This market regularly features more than 50 local sellers boasting a huge range of pre-loved gems. If you work up an appetite while shopping, there’s also coffee and delicious breakfast noshes available.

If you’re keen to get out of the city

Cleveland Markets, Cleveland – Sunday, 7:00 am to 1:00 pm
Boasting 70 stalls selling fresh produce, arts and crafts, hot food, coffee and more, the Cleveland Markets is a great spot to spend a Sunday morning. Located on Bloomfield Street, the market has plenty of free street parking nearby and is situated only a short two-minute walk from the Cleveland train station.

Redcliffe Farmers and Artisan Markets, Redcliffe – Sunday, 8:00 am to 2:00 pm
How does a bit of live music, some fresh sea air and incredible food and drink sound to start your Sunday? You can get all of that and more at the Redcliffe Jetty Markets, which is situated on the foreshore of Anzac Place Parklands. 

Shoreline Twilight Markets, Redland Bay – every first Friday of the month, 5:00–9:00 pm (winter 4:00–8:00 pm)
Drive 40 minutes down the M1 to check out Shoreline Twilight Markets operating on the first Friday of every month. Here you will find international food trucks, bespoke market stalls, roving entertainment, face painting and carnival games. 

Yarrabilba Mingle Market, Yarrabilba every second Friday of the month, 5:00–9:00 pm (winter 4:00–8:00 pm)
With more than 50 recurring vendors, there is something for everyone at the Yarrabilba Mingle Market. Explore the wide variety of popular food trucks, artisan crafts, homewares, fashion, children’s wares and more.

If you’re after something a little different

Brisbane Flower Market, Rocklea – Monday to Saturday, various times
Drive out to Rocklea and experience Brisbane’s only wholesale flower market with multiple wholesalers in one location. Here you will find an extensive range of in-season blooms from market bunches and Valentine’s Day roses, to special-event arrangements, gifts and homewares. 

Brisbane Vegan Markets, Mount Gravatt Showgrounds – first Friday of every month, 5:00–9:00pm
If you’re a vegan, or are in the mood to sample some plant-based street food, then this is the place to do it. The BrisbaneVegan Markets is on at the Mount Gravatt Showgrounds with plenty of sweets and savoury eats to devour. Click here to discover the next market dates. 

Global Food Markets, Woodridge – Sunday, 6:00 am to 12:00 pm
If you’re seeking a taste of some worldly cuisines, we suggest you make tracks for Woodridge for the Global Food Markets. Not only can you buy your standard fruit and veg, but here you’ll also find exotic produce not typically found in grocery stores. What’s more, the market’s collection of street-food vendors sell dishes from Asia, New Zealand, Africa and more. 

Polish Market Day, Milton – last Saturday of the month, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm
There’s no other place in Brisbane that offers an opportunity to purchase authentic Polish goods. This unique market day, which is held once a month, provides a range of delicacies from pastries and small snacks to craft and curio stalls. Stay a while in the beer garden or restaurant for a Saturday beverage – na zdrowie!
