Later this month, Brisbane’s premier lifestyle precinct, James Street, will host a page-turning collaboration designed for readers, creatives and literary collectors.

LOVEWANT magazine and Perimeter Books are joining forces to gift Brisbane a temporary bookstore where charmingly clever printed offerings and editorial inspiration can be found. Running from Friday October 24 – 26, the limited-time speciality store can be found at 65 James Street.

As a feature of the Art on James creative series, the literary pop-up will showcase rare issues from LOVEWANT’s archives of contemporary art, photography and fashion pieces, offering an exciting opportunity for fans of the Sydney-based magazine to pour over exclusive content.

Melbourne-based Perimeter Books, Australia’s leading specialised bookstore (and award-winning publisher and distribution house), will supply a curated selection of independent titles covering the realms of architecture, photography, design, art and culture.

With inspiration, editorial discovery and cultural pause at its heart, this literary collaboration will highlight James Street’s dedication to physical and intellectual community experiences by combining the genres of fashion, art, architecture, design, printmaking and more, where Brisbane creatives can immerse themselves in a gorgeously curated catalogue across three days.

On Saturday October 25, Perimeter co-founder Dan Rule and LOVEWANT co-founder and editor in chief Bartolomeo Celestino will host an intimate conversation about the intricacies of the industry. Discussing topics spanning the philosophies of independent publishing, the transformative power of creative collaboration and the photobook as an artistic medium, the two will share their perspectives as champions of their field in this free event.

The LOVEWANT and Perimeter Books pop-up will be trading from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm daily. Get more info here.
