Beloved indie heavyweights Boy & Bear and pop powerhouse Vera Blue lead the charge when The Long Sunset makes its glowing return to the Scenic Rim from October 31 to November 2. After last year’s sell-out, the festival shifts to a new home in Boonah, just over an hour from Brisbane and the Gold Coast, for a weekend of sunshine, live music and country charm.

The 2025 edition of The Long Sunset gathers some of Australia’s most exciting artists across a line-up that blends festival favourites, emerging talent and genre-bending performers. Gretta Ray brings her signature pop shimmer, The Buoys deliver punchy, guitar-driven anthems and Jem Cassar-Daley adds soulful depth to the weekend. Tjaka merges traditional sounds with modern beats, Playlunch injects chaos and charisma, while The Vernons amp things up with blues-soaked rock and Bunny Racket brings a wave of punk fun for all ages.

And this year, getting there is easier than ever. Festivalgoers can snap up $99 tickets that include return bus transport from Brisbane or the Gold Coast, making it simple to sit back, relax and roll into Boonah for a weekend of sunshine, stellar sounds and Scenic Rim magic.

Beyond the main stage, The Long Sunset comes alive with roving performances, creative pop-ups and immersive experiences that blur the lines between art, nature and music. Festivalgoers can hear original works from members of the I Heart Songwriting Club, get swept up in Ben Barker’s fusion of didgeridoo and guitar, or dance through Billie Weston’s high-energy global DJ set. Join Andrea Kirwin’s open mic, or soak up Rhys Rich’s alternative RnB and indie blend. As the sun sets, the Silent Disco keeps the crowd moving, while Gilly’s Line Dancing invites everyone to kick up their heels for some boot scootin’ fun.

Audiences can expect something new around every corner. Artisan Alley will be hosting creative sessions with Sip & Create Tamborine Mountain, showcasing community-led artmaking. Nature lovers can get hands-on creating habitats for native species at Watergum’s Frog Hotel Workshop, while Miss Bubbles roams the site trailing shimmering spheres of colour. Early riser? Start your days with free morning yoga beneath open skies and mountain air.

Things get underway on Friday night (October 31) with live sets across the site and a special show from Bayley Pearl at Boonah’s Commercial Hotel – setting the tone for a weekend steeped in Scenic Rim charm.

Forming part of QLD Music Trails: The Scenic Rim, presented by QMF, The Long Sunset is just one stop on a region-wide celebration of music and place. Alongside the festival, visitors can also discover live pop-ups and local performances across the hinterland, and explore hidden gems like wineries and forest walks to cosy country pubs and spectacular scenic lookouts. Final release tickets are on sale now – so gather your crew and soak up the big beats in Boonah.

If you can’t make it for The Long Sunset, gather the family and head to Spout & About in Kooralbyn on Sunday November 2, and enjoy an afternoon of music, wine and sunshine at Between the Vines at O’Reilly’s Vineyard in Canungra on Sunday November 9.
