Winter hasn’t even arrived yet and we’re already looking forward to spring. Why? Well, for starters, that’s when one of our favourite events – Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers – takes place. The city-spanning event is back for its 77th iteration in 2026, with more than 80 events and experiences taking place from Friday September 18 to Monday October 5. Here’s what you can expect …
Every year, Toowoomba welcomes nearly half a million visitors for the annual Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers, an immersive festival encompassing food experiences, family-friendly events and, of course, vibrant floral displays. Colour and creativity will be the guiding theme of the carnival’s 2026 edition, with crowd-favourite happenings and a swag of new program additions ensuring this year will be one of the best on record.
FEASTival, the festival’s major food and artisan celebration, is headlining the program once again, with a stacked showcase of produce, craft beverages and culinary talent on the cards for September 26–27. The weekend event will boast appearances from a number of celebrity chefs – including Nornie Bero, Simon Toohey and Dominique Rizzo – as well as immersive Sip & Savour tasting events, the signature Canopy Club premium dining experience, hands-on workshops, live-music performances, food stalls, artisan markets and more. Early bird tickets are available now for just $20 until Sunday May 31.
Other festival highlights include the Grand Central Floral Parade on Saturday September 19, which will see a procession of floral floats, street performers, carnival characters and roving entertainment make its way through the city to Queens Park.
Across October 2–5, Weekend Table will take over a bunch of venues across the region, each offering a special curated menu that caters to every taste and price point – be it a leisurely lunch at Cambooya’s Bull & Barley Inn, a four-course lunch with a wine pairing at Preston Manor or a six-course shared dining experience at Aberfeldy Barn.
A range of exclusive tasting tours will give visitors an opportunity to explore Toowoomba’s diverse food and beverage scene, with Sip & Stroll, Cork & Walk and Pint Pursuit events running over the first weekend. Meanwhile, bars, cafes and restaurants across the region will offer springtime specials throughout this year’s Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers as part of #trEATS (Toowoomba Region Eats).
Finally, and most importantly, floral fans will be able to soak up the riotous colour of many curated flower displays, with major showcases at Queens Park Botanic Gardens and Laurel Bank Park sure to wow alongside smaller pockets across Toowoomba’s CBD, Picnic Point Lookout and Spring Bluff Railway Station.
Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers is running from Friday September 18 to Sunday October 5 – head to the festival’s website for more information
