The first stages of Brisbane Airport’s major refresh have already landed at the International Terminal, with five of 13 new and upgraded food and beverage outlets set to open doors by mid-year.

Brisbane Airport’s executive general manager of commercial, Scott Norris said this transformation will be one of the terminal’s biggest to date. “The upgraded terminal will feature a mix of Brisbane bites and international favourites designed to make the pre-flight experience feel a little more like the holiday itself,” he said.

Joining McDonald’s opening last year – which is now one of its busiest Queensland locations – four more food outlets are making moves to the terminal, including crowd-favourite KFC, Mediterranean-inspired lobby bar concept Manna and healthy grab-and-go options from Liv Eat and Sushi Jiro kiosks.

Still to come is brand new hub The Dining Precinct, which will unite sweet offerings from Gelatissimo and local bakery Jocelyn’s Provisions. Travellers can also snap gourmet sandwiches from Brisbane-born Joe’s Deli and check out the Deck Bar & Eatery and Coffee Trader for pre-flight fuelling.  If the prospect of travel has you feeling adventurous, find a range of international flavours at Souva Greek Eats, Asian Street Kitchen and Sol Mexican Eats. On the caffeine front, Bellissimo, Merlo Cafe and Kuhl-Cher Cafe will also be brewing coffee across the departures and arrivals levels. International travellers can also enjoy the world’s first Brooki Bakehouse cookie vending machine, which opened earlier this year.

The International Terminal will also see upgrades in retail with the opening of Relay and Prosegur Change Currency Exchange, as well as Lotte Duty Free doubling its existing footprint.

A section of the Green Village on level 3 will be closed for ceiling replacement works until mid-June, with reduced waiting and seating room in this central area of the terminal.
