Brisbane Open House returns for its 17th year with one of its most expansive programs yet. In response to last year’s overwhelming demand, more than 90 buildings – including 16 private homes – will open to the public from July 18–19.

During Brisbane Open House’s weekend-long festivities, Brisbanites can score first-time access to some of the most significant additions to the city across Saturday July 18 and Sunday July 19.

The 2026 iteration of the event will see 93 buildings open their doors to the public, more than 30 of which have never been seen before. Governor of Queensland, the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young, launched this year’s program at the new Glass House Theatre at QPAC, which itself is one of the tourable buildings alongside brand-new commercial towers 205 North Quay, 360 Queen Street and the residential 443 Queen Street tower.

Also joining this year’s Open House roster will be returning favourites like the ABC Brisbane building, Parliament House the Museum of Brisbane, the Spring Hill Baths, The Princess Theatre, Queensland Museum Kurilpa, the Brisbane Powerhouse and much more. Locals will also get a final chance at touring The Gabba before its upcoming reconstruction.

Architectural enthusiasts and families alike can enjoy guided walks, talks and tours, as well as special events specific to the weekend. Notable events include a free public conversation to mark the GOMA’s 20th anniversary, a behind-the-scenes look at the UAP Foundry and a special opportunity to travel 30 meters underground to see a section of the newly constructed Cross River Rail.

Every year, Brisbane Open House unlocks commercial towers, heritage landmarks, beautiful private homes and major government institutions. The city skyline has changed drastically over the years – this is your chance to explore the many stories hidden in Brisbane’s architecture.

Brisbane Open House runs from Saturday June 18 to Sunday June 19 across all of Greater Brisbane. Visit the Brisbane Open House website for more information.
