Brisbane hospitality heavyweight Ghanem Group is expanding to Brisbane’s north for its next chapter, unveiling plans to open Alfi Eatery & Bar at Everton Plaza in mid-2026. The group – which is behind city standouts like Donna Chang, Blackbird, Byblós and Lúc Lắc’ – is trading the CBD skyline for suburban streets, introducing a large-format Mediterranean-leaning concept designed for families and long, leisurely gatherings.
Spanning an impressive 800-sqm, Alfi Eatery & Bar will become Everton Plaza’s largest food and beverage venue to date, marking a noteworthy move for the group – and a major win for Everton Park.
Positioned on the ground level of Everton Plaza’s expanding dining precinct Park Lane, Alfi is being imagined as a sizeable, light-filled space with access from both South Pine Road and the Stafford Road side. Inside, the expansive 350-seat restaurant will centre around a lively open kitchen and a sweeping U-shaped bar, before spilling out into a 200-seat courtyard framed by greenery and soft coastal tones.
Drawing inspiration from the Amalfi Coast, the interiors lean into a neutral, sunlit palette of natural timbers, Italian stone and curved forms. Booths draped with curtains, long communal tables and bar seating will all contribute to the venue’s seamless indoor-outdoor flow.
“We’ve been holding this one close to our chest for a few years now, waiting for the right time to start the fit-out, which has just begun,” said Ghanem Group hospitality director Adonis Ghanem in a statement.
“This time we venture into the suburbs with a cuisine we’ve been very eager to add to our portfolio, and which is very much loved by our diners. Italian-inspired food is casual, approachable, and family-centred and we’re complementing that with an amazing cocktail, wine and drinks list.”
The announcement of Alfi follows a busy period for Ghanem Group, which included the revival of the Commercial Hotel in Boonah, the launch of Southeast Asian-inspired Lúc Lắc at Queen’s Wharf and a fresh reimagining of Byblos at Portside Wharf. The group is also set relaunch Fish Lane’s iconic Fox Hotel as a world-class, multi-level dining, events and entertainment hub in the coming months.
Alfi Eatery & Bar is slated to open in mid-2026. Stay tuned for more details as opening approaches.
