Bite fever – dim sum meets disco at Central’s new Saturday lunch party

Hong Kong-inspired subterranean dining room Central is shaking things up on weekends, opening the doors a little earlier for what is being described as a mix between traditional yum cha brunch and a vibe-centric party. Central’s Dim Sum Club long lunch is now running every Saturday, offering guests delicious dumplings, delectable dim sum and dynamo disco. Here’s what’s on the menu …

If you’ve had dinner and drinks at Central before, there’s a good chance you’ve been present when the venue’s disco ball descends from the ceiling. Signifying a shift into party mode, the energy inside the restaurant immediately ratchets up a notch to match the tempo of the music and dinner takes on a new identity.

The team behind the design-forward venue is looking to generate the same kind of electric vibe on weekends with the introduction of Dim Sum Club – an afternoon experience centred around a brand-new banquet menu.

Available on Saturdays, guests can gather around a selection of handcrafted yum cha dishes served alongside bottomless iced tea. Highlights of the offering include scallop and prawn dumplings with smoked-salmon roe, pan-fried wagyu sheng jian bao, king crab and prawn spring rolls, and Hong Kong-style cheung fun with sesame and sweet soy.

An optional two-hour bottomless drinks package is available, featuring tap beer, premium wines and a number of exclusive Dim Sum Club cocktails like Heart of Glass (vodka, makrut leaf and ginger) and the Hot Stuff spritz (prosecco, lychee and osmanthus shrub).

From 2:00 pm, Central’s disco ball drops and the vibe shifts from relaxed to lively courtesy of a disco-heavy playlist. Keen to snag a table? Click here to book in now!
