A new rooftop restaurant and street-level wine bar are opening in The Valley next week

On Friday May 29, the hospitality group behind Lina Rooftop, Soko and Azteca will be expanding its portfolio with not one, but two new openings on Constance Street. Siroco Rooftop will lure diners upwards with the promise of coastal-inspired fire cooking and Mediterranean spice, while Bar Lucé will keep things grounded with Euro-style share plates, flowing wines and an intimate atmosphere. Here’s what we know …

As Europe begins to prepare for the summer months, Potentia Solutions Leisure is looking to bring a dash of Mediterranean magic to Brisbane with its latest concepts. Next week, the hospitality juggernaut will open up two new venues at The Constance, one at the building’s crown and one on street level.

Rooftop restaurant and bar Siroco is taking over the top-level space previously occupied by TABOO and Dirty Sultan, with the Potentia team taking inspiration from the sun-soaked coastline of the Mediterranean, infusing the breathless, sweaty energy of the region into Siroco’s aesthetic and offering.

Work has gone into transforming the space, which leans into a raw aesthetic palette boasting neutral tones, stone tables, textured rendered walls and linen curtains. A new retractable roof has also been installed, ensuring Siroco remains an all-weather destination that embraces its breezy namesake.

“‘Sirocco’ refers to the wind that crosses the Mediterranean during seasonal changes – in spring and again in autumn,” explains Potentia Solutions Leisure CEO Ross Ledingham. “It’s now more open – beautiful, light, airy and coastal.”

Accommodating leisurely afternoon lunches, sunset dining and late-night revelry, Siroco will match 180-degree skyline views with a menu that’s designed to be shared and savoured. Signatures will include camaron rojo (Queensland red shrimp) carpaccio with mango salsa and aji amarillo, wagyu picanha with onion-butter sauce, and the Siroco Chicken – a grilled spatchcock served with smoked Aleppo pepper.

Downstairs in what was previously the Rose Room, Bar Lucé will evoke the seductive intimacy of European cafes and wine bars, transforming the ground-floor space into a 90-seat all-day destination offering everything from breakfast to nightcaps. Channelling warmth and romance in equal measure, Bar Lucé’s interior will be divided into communal spaces and intimate nooks, with soft couch seating, pale yellow walls, auburn accents and ample greenery bringing the place to life.

When it comes to food, Bar Lucé will keep things Euro-centric – there’ll be platters of oysters, king crab, scallop and Moreton Bay bug finished with sherry vinegar, pizzetta topped with aged wagyu bresaola, and grilled tiger prawns served with brown-butter capers. Wine and cocktails will be key to the beverage menu, naturally, while the vibes will be heavily music driven with ambient house music setting a steady rhythm for conversation.

“Downstairs is about quirky fun snacks,” says Ross. “Light bites and cocktails – not so much full sit-down meals, more of a relaxed atmosphere that you’d find in places in Sydney, Dubai, London and New York.”

Siroco Rooftop and Bar Lucé will open to the public on Friday May 29. Keep your eyes peeled for more.
