Shake that Tamborine – a new boutique escape is set to open in Scenic Rim

Having been named by Lonely Planet and others as one of the hottest destinations in the world, the Scenic Rim is no longer one of Queensland’s best kept secrets. That said, we can still console ourselves with the knowledge that it’s much easier for us to pop down for a long weekend or a mid-week getaway than for those who must board an international flight to make the pilgrimage. Already overstocked with a myriad of charms, the Scenic Rim has gained another – a new boutique hotel, aptly and succinctly named, The Tamborine. Read on to learn all the details …

The creation of long-time friends and co-owners, Gina McNamara and Nina Aberdeen, The Tamborine is a stylish reimagining of a 1980s Hacienda-style motel. Boasting 23 rooms, all of The Tamborine’s lodgings feature private balconies or terraces from which you can soak up breathtaking views of Tamborine Mountain and its scenic surrounds. During their stay, guests can unwind by the side of the heated mineral pool and spa, or enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast and hosted aperitifs for ‘Peacock O’Clock’ at the elegant lounge and bar area.

Co-owner Gina, who developed and operates the acclaimed Cassis Red Hill in Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, says the team is “beyond excited to open the doors to The Tamborine and share this special place with our guests. The hotel is designed to offer a seamless connection between our guests, our hosts, the natural surrounds, and the local community. Every detail has been crafted to ensure that when guests arrive, they feel a deep sense of relaxation and belonging. We can’t wait to see them experience the stunning views, unwind by the pool, and explore everything the Scenic Rim has to offer.”

The hotel’s offerings include curated suggestions for activities and outings, helping visitors build their own own unique perfect Scenic Rim experience.

“Whether it be immersing oneself in nature, enjoying a tipple at one of the many and emerging micro-breweries and distilleries, or exploring the artisan wares the mountain is famous for, The Tamborine will be the perfect escape for our guests. We want guests leaving feeling enriched and connected, and eager to return,” says co-owner Nina.

The Tamborine is now taking books for an early December opening. Find out more on its website.
