Queen classics and 80s icons light up Sanctuary Cove for two-night concert series Rock ‘n Rewind

If your playlist still leans heavily towards power ballads and arena-rock anthems, consider this your cue to dust off your dancing shoes. Sanctuary Cove is about to trade tranquil marina evenings for big choruses and even bigger hair as Rock ‘n Rewind rolls into town for a huge two-night waterfront concert series.

Taking over The Marine Village on Friday March 13 and Saturday March 14, the open-air Rock ‘n Rewind concert will transform Masthead Way (just behind Sanctuary Cove Tavern) into a celebration of the anthems that shaped generations. It’s nostalgia dialled all the way up, unfolding against the glow of the marina at dusk.

Kicking things off on Friday is The Sensational 80s Show, a high-energy tribute to the decade that gave us flamboyant fashion, synth-heavy hooks and stadium-sized sing-alongs. Three powerhouse vocalists will move through a hit list of rock and pop favourites, backed by bold costumes and plenty of crowd-participation moments. Think hits from AC/DC, Bon Jovi and Van Halen, as well as icons like Madonna, Whitney Houston, Wham! and Michael Jackson.

On Saturday, The Killer Queen Experience will take the stage with a theatrical salute to one of the greatest live bands of all time. Expect soaring harmonies, iconic moves and a set packed with Queen classics designed to have the whole marina singing along beneath the stars.

Dress for the era – bring the sequins, the big hair, the double denim and the leather – then settle into the relaxed outdoor setting, with bar service and weather cover keeping things comfortable rain or shine.

And why not make a day of it at The Marine Village? Lock in a long lunch, stretch it into sunset drinks or line up an early pre-show dinner by the water. From tacos and margaritas at Pablito’s Mexican & Tequilaria to modern Australian plates at Reds Kitchen & Bar or an indulgent feast at Tara Far East Dining, there are plenty of dining experiences to enjoy before the concerts kick off.

Tickets are $89 per person per night, or $160 for the two-night Ultimate Throwback Package if you’re keen to commit to the full rewind. Plus, one lucky ticket-holder will also win a two-night stay at InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort across the weekend (March 13–14), complete with breakfast for two.
