SWELL Sculpture Festival – Currumbin

This weekend, SWELL Sculpture Festival kicks off its 10 day celebration, bringing more than 300 Australian and international artists to the 1.2km of foreshore from Currumbin Beach to Flat Rock in Tugun. This year’s program features a line-up of art-related activities and experiences including the SWELL Smalls Gallery, masterclasses and workshop and guided sculpture walks where guests can learn more about the scattered artworks gracing Currumbin’s sands and the talented artists behind them. Elegantly Wasted by HOTA and Queensland Ballet – Surfers Paradise

In honour of one of Australia’s most legendary bands HOTA and Queensland Ballet’s latest contemporary performance will deliver 12 showtimes this weekend. The bold contemporary ballet Elegantly Wasted will set to the music of INXS, and has been blessed by INXS founding member and composer Andrew Farriss, ho described Elegantly Wasted as a fresh artistic interpretation that stands on its own. Set within the polished anonymity of a luxury hotel lobby, the performance follows a group of young influencers curating their lives through performance, projection and validation. Blacken Forever at Mo’s Desert Clubhouse – Burleigh Heads

The nationwide celebration of music and solidarity, Blacken Forever, will make its only Queensland appearance this Saturday at Mo’s Desert Clubhouse. Supporting the Save The Black Wreath movement, the event slash fundraiser will see concerts erupting simultaneously across the country, featuring some of Australia’s best heavy bands, coming together in solidarity for the high-profile crowdfunding campaign launched to buy and secure the permanent home of The Black Wreath, an iconic, volunteer-run heavy music venue, rehearsal space and recording studio in Alice Springs. This weekend’s event will feature performances from Helm, Snake Mountain, Blind Girls, HOLYSTONE, Couch Wizard, Awful Noise, Bunny Racket and DJ Lagerstein. Crafted Festival – Kurrawa Park

This Saturday, Crafted Festival returns for another all-day celebration of ten years of beers, beachside sessions and good times done right. Set within Kurrawa Park, Crafted Festival 2026 will bring a stellar live music line up featuring The Vanns, Selve, Phil and the Blanks, SPACE&AGES, Laurel Hill and Allora, along with a day long agenda of fun activities. Between beers, check out line dancing, the ping pong competition, a brisket cooking demo and tasting, beer yoga, Cycho’s hot wing eating competition, the sparkling champagne showdown and much more. Minna Gilligan: True Colours at HOTA – Surfers Paradise

This weekend, HOTA launches its new Children’s Gallery exhibition Minna Gilligan: True Colours. Through her curated collection of images, Minna’s colourful works and collages evoke joy, nostalgia and wonder, drawing on memories of childhood and a retro aesthetic. Adults, teens and children alike can all enjoy the exhibition, where a rainbow leads to a full-filled experience with games and activities waiting to unlock creativity and build connections across generations. Brazilian Day at Miami Marketta

Miami Marketta is celebrating everything that makes Brazil unique this weekend with its Brazilian Day Experience, complete with authentic food, community atmosphere and a stacked line up Brazilian artists. For the first time ever, Maneva, one of Brazil’s most beloved bands will join the event with their acclaimed live show and unforgettable stage presence that has seen them become one of the biggest names in Brazilian reggae with a career spanning more than two decades. Turf Games Gold Coast Festival 2026 – Palm Beach

Turf Games, the inclusive, team-based fitness challenge that has taken the world by storm, will hit the Gold Coast for a three-day festival this weekend, bigger and better than ever before. Friday Night Lights kicks off the festival on the 11th with epic tunes, huge crowds and Turf Engine, an endurance race of skiing, biking, rowing and running. Turf Games 2026 will see all competitions held on Saturday, with three divisions to enter, including Everyday, Elite and Intermediate. Assistance Dogs Australia’s Donate for Doggies Night – Surfers Paradise

On Saturday September 12, Hilton Hotel in Surfers Paradise will host a fundraiser dedicated to supporting Assistance Dogs Australia, raising funds and awareness for the organisation. Spearheaded by Carolyn Morton, a dedicated Gold Coast resident, the community driven event will feature performances by local band 33RED, raffles, auctions, and an opportunity for attendees to meet some of the assistance dogs currently in training.
