For more than a decade, Paradox Coffee Roasters has been setting the benchmark for specialty coffee on the Gold Coast. Built on precision brewing, thoughtful sourcing and a genuine passion for the craft, it’s earned a loyal following along the way. Now, the team has turned the page on a new chapter, unveiling a flagship space in Broadbeach. Take a look inside …
Finding the right site doesn’t happen overnight. After an extended search, the stars aligned in Broadbeach, where an empty shell sat between a sneaker store and a smoothie bar. Rather than settle, Paradox Coffee Roasters went all in – securing not one, but all three adjoining tenancies along Oracle Boulevard to create a venue that makes an immediate statement.
And it shows. The new space is expansive, open and designed to move with the rhythm of the day – from early-morning coffee runs to long, lingering brunches. With capacity for more than 130 guests, what was once a series of separate sites has been reworked into a cohesive, considered environment that gives the Paradox brand room to fully express itself.
At its core, coffee remains the hero. That hasn’t changed – but here, it’s been taken even further.
Alongside signature blends like Paper Moon and Penny Lane, the Broadbeach outpost leans deeper into specialty territory. A dedicated V60 menu showcases single-origin coffees, including rare and limited releases that are roasted, then frozen to preserve their peak. These are cups designed for those who want to slow down and take notice – brewed to order, often from beans that are difficult to source and even more difficult to execute well.
Then there’s the more experimental side. A trio of taps pours inventive creations like a strawberry maple iced latte on oat, a lychee pavlova latte and a lychee bloom cold brew. The coffees begin their journey fermented in fruit pulp before roasting, resulting in layered, unexpected flavour profiles. It’s a reminder that Paradox isn’t just serving coffee – it’s constantly exploring it.
The space itself reflects that philosophy. More than just a cafe, it operates as an extension of the Paradox roastery – a place for training, education and connection, where the journey from bean to cup is part of the experience.
Of course, coffee alone doesn’t carry a venue of this scale. The food offering is tight but considered, built around quality produce and a handful of standout dishes that bring something a little different to the table.
The chilli scrambled eggs deliver a punch of flavour, layered with fermented chilli labneh, crispy shallots, chilli oil, pickled onion and herbs. The Paradox miso mushroom has quickly become a favourite – served on a crisp lentil cake with miso-glazed mushrooms, crispy enoki, whipped white bean and charred greens. For something on the sweeter side, the dulce de leche buttermilk hotcakes arrive topped with vanilla bean ice-cream, Biscoff crumb, berries, burnt orange, toasted pecans and Persian floss.
It’s all designed with balance in mind – giving people a reason to stay, not just sip and go.

After 18 months searching for the right space, the decision to take on a larger footprint speaks to a long-term vision for the brand. And while the scale has grown, the philosophy remains the same – good coffee, done properly, with people at the centre of it.
