Hellenika is coming back to the Gold Coast for one very long lunch

Approximately 15 years ago, Simon Gloftis opened Hellenika in Nobby Beach, kickstarting a culinary journey that would see the Greek-inspired restaurant rise through the ranks of Queensland’s restaurant scene. On Sunday October 25, Simon will be bringing Hellenika back to the Gold Coast, hosting a luxurious long lunch at Miami Marketta. Here’s what’s on the menu …

October is shaping up to be a big month for Simon Gloftis and the Hellenika team. Next month, the restaurateur will celebrate the launch of Hellenika’s own cookbook – a compendium of 110 recipes and numerous stories that chart the restaurant’s more-than-15-year lifespan.

One week later, the Hellenika crew will make for the Gold Coast, taking over Miami Marketta on Sunday October 25 for a lunch event that is shaping up to be a must-attend feast for fans of Simon’s lauded Greek fare.

Gourmands on the Goldie will recall that Hellenika was born on the coast – its Nobby Beach home leading the Gold Coast dining resurgence in the early 2010s. Even after pulling up stumps and relocating Hellenika to The Calile Hotel, the restaurant’s legacy is still deeply intertwined with its formative years near the beach.

From 12:00–5:00 pm, guests to Hellenika’s long lunch will be able to enjoy a generous menu of the restaurant’s greatest hits, prepared by the restaurant’s chefs (including chargrilled lamb on the spit), a five-hour beverage package (featuring beer, wine and soft drinks) and a cocktail on arrival, enjoyed while a live band fills the air with Greek music.

“I am so excited to bring Hellenika back to the Gold Coast to Miami Marketta for another long lunch,” says Simon. “With the release of the book, and celebrating 15 years, it seems only fitting to return to where it all began – to say thank you to our Gold Coast guests for all of their support over the years.”

Tickets are on sale now, with seats available individually or as part of tables of four, six, eight or ten. All guests have the option of adding a copy of Hellinka’s cookbook to their ticket purchase. Click here to snag your spot.
