Paradise Centre is kicking the festive season into gear with a three-day Christmas takeover from Friday December 12 through to Sunday December 14. The beachside precinct will come alive with extended shopping hours, eye-catching performances and fun-filled festive moments, creating a lively atmosphere that makes the countdown to Christmas even more exciting. Ready for a weekend stacked with seasonal sparkle? This is the one to mark in your calendar.
First up, drop into the free Christmas Beach Baub-BALL Workshops outside Newsextra daily from December 12–14. Running from 1:00–4:00 pm, the sessions give kids (and enthusiastic grown-ups) the chance to decorate their own bauble using stencils, paint markers and ribbon. Paradise Centre’s Christmas helpers will be roaming for photos and festive fun – and with sessions every 30 minutes, booking ahead is highly recommended.
As the afternoon winds down, the energy kicks up a notch. On Friday and Saturday nights, fire twirlers and LED dancers will light up the beachfront precinct with glowing live performances from 6:00–9:00 pm, bringing an unexpected sense of after-dark theatrics to your Christmas shopping spree or dinner plans.
Adding to the fun, the all-new Christmas Flicks & Fireworks hits the Surfers Paradise beachfront – just metres from Paradise Centre – on Friday December 12 and Saturday December 13, blending twilight markets, outdoor movies and fireworks in one festive sweep. Make a night of it by grabbing some last-minute Christmas gifts at Paradise Centre, then swing by the all-new Pappa Flock, Wendy’s or your favourite eatery to pick up dinner or takeaway treats for a beach picnic. Then at 7:00 pm, settle in for free beachfront films – The Santa Clause on Friday and Elf on Saturday – before the sky lights up with 8:30 pm fireworks on both evenings.
And on Saturday December 13, there’s even more to look forward to. The first 400 people who sign up to the Paradise Centre newsletter will walk away with either a surprise $20 retailer voucher or a Paradise Centre inflatable pool ring – simply swing by the Dive into Christmas desk near Newsextra between 1:00–7:00 pm to sign up.
When it’s time to refuel, Paradise Centre’s dining line-up has every taste covered – from Italian at Enzo’s Cucina and bold Mexican bites at El Camino Cantina to burgers at Wahlburgers, coastal-inspired plates at La Playa, modern Thai at Nahm Talay Thai and classic American feasts at TGI Fridays. Be sure to finish the night with a scoop from Gelato Messina, Royal Copenhagen or Ben & Jerry’s.
