A particular kind of Saturday belongs to a market. Coffee in one hand, the slow swing of a tote bag in the other, no plan except whatever catches the eye between the racks. A new monthly market is landing in Burleigh Heads this weekend, and it has all the makings of a perfect Saturday – vintage browsing, vinyl spinning, a cocktail bar open and live music rolling out from midday.

Mojave Markets debuts at Mo’s Desert Clubhouse this Saturday May 23, with more than 20 sellers spread across the warehouse and its surrounds. The line-up is squarely in step with the rise in conscious shopping – vintage clothing, second-hand fashion, one-off creator pieces and handmade wares from emerging makers.

Coffee comes courtesy of next-door Quest Roastery, who’ll be open to fuel the wandering. A food truck rolls in from 11:00 am, and the on-site cocktail bar will be doing its thing for anyone who fancies a side of spritz with their browsing. From noon, the main warehouse turns over to a live music series spotlighting emerging Gold Coast artists, with vinyl spinning between sets.

It’s a format built for the people who’d rather wander than scroll – slower, second-hand and not a shopping trolley in sight. Dogs are welcome, families are welcome, and there’s no real agenda beyond an excellent Saturday morning.

Mojave Markets will run from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on the fourth Saturday of every month, with future dates locked in for June 27, July 25 and August 29.
