From Friday November 21 to Saturday December 20, Roma Street Parkland will shimmer and dazzle with the return of seasonal light show The Enchanted Garden. This year more than 22,000-sqm of illuminated green space will double as a magical wonderland, with families invited to immerse themselves in a brand-new tale of magic.
Every year, just before Christmas, Roma Street Parkland takes on a new form for The Enchanted Garden. This year (the event’s tenth iteration), thousands of vivid LEDs and shimmering projections will cover a 1-km self-guided and wheelchair-accessible trail, which will take wanderers through a festive narrative that utilises light, sound and nature to conjure a sense of magic and wonder.
Brisbane-based lighting and entertainment specialist BCL Productions has crafted this year’s fantastical tale An Enchanted Eve – transporting visitors to a magical garden shaped by its guardians, Willow and Marigold. As guests navigate through the mesmerising lightscape, they’ll encounter interactive elements and delights hidden amongst the glowing fairylights and bobbing orbs.
In addition to the light show itself, The Enchanted Garden will also boast food trucks and a licensed pop-up bar on Celebration Lawn, with free entry to the public from 5:00 pm daily. The Enchanted Garden will open to the public daily from 6:30 pm and will offer session times every 15 minutes until the last session at 9:15 pm. Four session types are available – early, standard, up late and low sensory. Tickets are on sale with group passes also on offer.
