This week, a crowd of sequin-clad revellers shimmied into Roma Street Parkland to celebrate the opening of the city’s new hotly anticipated venue space, The Glo House. This state-of-the-art fully transparent (and fully transportable) glasshouse-like structure is looking to set a new standard for events in Brisbane, elevating galas into ultra-glam affairs and weddings into truly unforgettable experiences. And before you ask, yes – it is air-conditioned! Take a look inside …

Anthony Ikin and Pete Cunningham know a thing or two about throwing an incredible party. As co-founders of Glo Events, the duo has helped ideate, plan and orchestrate all sorts of events, from product launches and brand activations to glitzy galas and charity balls.

Though every Glo Events shindig – big or small – is propelled by the brand’s signature above-and-beyond approach, Anthony and Pete’s latest venture is the tandem’s most bold and ambitious undertaking yet.

The Glo House is a brand-new, Australia-first events venue that has transformed one of Brisbane’s most picturesque green spaces into a wonderland of frivolity. Nestled in the heart of Roma Street Parkland, this 400-guest building is a fully transparent, glass-encased pavilion that the team describes as “a cross between a luxe conservatory and a floating greenhouse”.

“We set out to design a venue that would stop people in their tracks – a space where every moment feels like a movie scene,” says Anthony. “The Glo House is about bringing people together in an environment that feels natural, glamorous and unforgettable.”

As event planners, Anthony and Pete are accustomed to sweating the small stuff. So, when it comes to The Glo House’s amenities, no expense has been spared. The venue is designed with flow and wow-factor in mind, and is equipped with everything one could need to host their dream event – from high-spec AV and sound to year-round climate control.

A concept with collaboration at its heart, The Glo House will align with Brisbane’s creative and culinary community to showcase the best of what the city has to offer. If you’re eager to plan a party with a sense of theatricality, or are looking to impress with a seriously gourmet catering option, consider your bases covered.

“We are excited to be delivering on the vision we shared earlier this year,” says Pete. “Every detail – from the glass architecture to the built-in AV and lighting – has been built to create an experience that’s seamless for event organisers and magical for guests.”

Described by the team as “stunning by design and temporary by nature”, The Glo House is set to be a roaming fixture of Brisbane’s event scene. The building will call the Roma Street Parklands home from now until December, after which it will move to a new, as-yet-undisclosed location that the team hints will be within reach of the inner city and similarly set in nature.

As Brisbane inches closer to the 2032 Olympic Games, Anthony and Pete are eager to contribute to the city’s evolution into a world-class destination that can compete on a global stage. By creating experiences that blow minds and push boundaries, The Glo House is well positioned to become a go-to for weddings, balls, runway shows and corporate events. Click here for more information.
