From news of a new pop-up restaurant at River Quay to a double-header opening in The Valley, The Weekend Edition is always on the search for the latest food news in Brisbane, dedicated to ensuring its readers are in the know. When we put our ears to the pavement this week, this is what we found out …
Azure Mediterranean
One of Brisbane’s best riverside sites will soon be reborn next month as a Mediterranean-inspired pop-up restaurant and bar. Azure Mediterranean is taking over the River Quay home of The Jetty South Bank, transforming it into a coastal escape boasting natural tones, textured finishes, warm timber elements and layered lighting. Azure will offer an elevated yet relaxed dining experience, led by a menu shaped by the flavours of the eastern Mediterranean – think seafood, grilled meats, seasonal vegetables and shared dishes – plus a drinks program of Australian and European wines, signature cocktails and spritzes. The brainchild of Alemré Group (Poca Madre, Cálida), Azure Mediterranean will be a temporary resident of River Quay, with the pop-up expected to run until March 2027. “There’s something about being beside the river that naturally changes the pace of how people spend time,” says Alemré Group general manager Brandon Orr. “People arrive for lunch and end up staying into the evening. We wanted Azure to feel like an escape from the city without ever leaving Brisbane – somewhere that captures that Mediterranean rhythm of long afternoons, shared food and sunset drinks.” Azure Mediterranean is expected to open in mid-June – keep your eyes peeled for more.

Eloise & Lou Patisserie
A brand-new patisserie serving traditional French-style baked goods is set to open in The Valley next month, with Eloise & Lou currently taking shape on Wickham Street. The brainchild of top-flight pastry chef Adrien Marcinowski (formerly of Rise Bakery), Eloise & Lou is looking to showcase the craftsmanship of French baking (we’re taking high-quality ingredients and no shortcuts) through a range of elegantly presented products. Once open, Eloise & Lou will offer guests a selection of traditional French patisserie and viennoiserie, with classic croissants and pain au chocolat on offer alongside sweets and a range of savoury brunch-style offerings. Macarons will be a key focus, with Adrien also eager to showcase a few items inspired by his childhood. Though a takeaway-focused operation, Eloise & Lou will boast a few seats for dine-in customer, with a concise coffee and drinks menu also available. If everything goes to plan, Adrien estimates that Eloise & Lou will open in mid-June. Stay tuned for updates in the coming weeks.

Siroco Rooftop and Bar Lucé
In case you missed the news last week, Potentia Solutions Leisure (Lina Rooftop, Azteca, Soko Rooftop) is bringing a dash of Euro-inspired hospitality to Brisbane with the launch of two new venues at The Constance this Friday – rooftop restaurant and bar Siroco and ground-floor cafe-bar Bar Lucé. Taking over the former TABOO and Dirty Sultan space, Siroco draws inspiration from the Mediterranean coast, featuring a breezy, coastal aesthetic with neutral tones, stone tables, textured walls and a retractable roof, alongside a share-style menu of dishes like Queensland red shrimp carpaccio, wagyu picanha and grilled spatchcock with smoked Aleppo pepper. Below, Bar Lucé transforms the old Rose Room site into a warm, European-style all-day venue offering breakfast, snacks, seafood platters, pizzettas, cocktails and wine in an intimate, music-driven setting. Potentia Solutions Leisure CEO Ross Ledingham says Siroco embraces a light, airy coastal feel inspired by the Mediterranean wind it’s named after, while Bar Lucé will focus on relaxed, social dining reminiscent of venues in Sydney, Dubai, London and New York.
